The Race Is Not To The Swift// My Journey Has Begun!

August 12!

I got a pop up notification from a WhatsApp group I was randomly added to.
At first I wanted to exit the group because I am not a huge fan of being added to some random group I know nothing about or isn't my concern or of my interest.
I was this close to exiting the group until I read the group name and description, it turned out to be from an internship program I applied for a few weeks ago.
To be very honest, I had my doubt of being picked or selected among thousands of people that applied for that same course, so how ever it happened that I was among the selected people is a testimony and I don't take that privilege for granted.
Having read the signs and realising where I was, I was this happy, excited, thankful and surprised too.
I quickly read through the messages and information on the group and found out that the internship was kicking in two days time.

Hopefully, my plans and schedules for the week were a bit friendly so I made out the time to visit the location for the internship program from day one.
I was a little late on my first day, but I met a few others praying at the time I got there.
Mingling and associating with strangers hasn't really been a thing for me and the faces I saw on the first day wasn't quite impressive, oh well except for my boss and another young lad seated on the front row which gave me a little bit of hope.
I walked in after the prayers, greeted my boss and had my seat on the front row next to the young lad in a black dress and brown jacket lol, that's how fast and easy I identify people based on their outfits, as a matter of fact, out of about 18-20 people present on the first day, I could easily tell the outfits of about 8 if not 10 people lol.

The boss gave a brief introduction about herself and what the internship entails and what we are expected to achieve and do in the next couple of weeks and months that we would be there.
The journey was already looking fun and exciting for me and I couldn't wait to go into the work proper lol.
Did I tell you for some reason, I liked almost everything about my boss? The simplicity, the friendliness, the humility and ambition was topnotch, I couldn't help not liking her.
Little did I know, I also captured her heart who knows? Lol, well it took me a few days after our first day at work to realize this.
I did most of the little errands for her amongst other colleagues and interns there.
She seemed to have entrusted me with tasks and I didn't take those little moments for granted, it meant so much to me.
And from that day till onset, I've learned a lot from her and she does her very best to teach and guide us to the best of her ability.

We also had a resourced person speak to us on the first day of our resumption.
He spoke about what we would likely encounter in the industry and how fortunate we are to be among the selected and we shouldn't take this privilege and moment for granted.
Trust me when I say that I couldn't have loved this work any less, because I've always wanted and yearned for this opportunity.
So I am loving and enjoying every moment and time spent there.
I know what I want, I will go for it and stop at nothing to come out victorious.
From time to time I will share my stories and update you guys with my progress of this exciting journey , so sit back and have some thrilling moments with me.
