The first time my net worth took a hit and not by a small margin. Having a good chunk in Hive assets hit me hard since Hive dropped around 25% over the week.
Got hit on the trading side, too. Invested a good margin in top-level common cl cards, but the market moved against me. Didn't think it through deeply enough about what consequences the bot owners buying into the card market would have. It was obvious that common/rare go up in prices and epic/legendary go down. But missed that the demand for "garbage" commons increases and the demand for "top-level" commons doesn't as much. Since those prices are driven by higher BCX card utility. The high demand for "garbage" commons leads to more pack open which lead to a higher supply of "top" commons, but the demand isn't increasing by the current equilibrium so their prices drop. Kinda fun to see real-world economic principles applied in splinterlands.
Not certain what I'm going to do with my position, my losses aren't high. I might even be break-even in DEC due to DEC dropping again. I might sit it out and wait for the market to catch up to the new supply. The inherent value of the cards didn't change, so over time prices should go back to normal once the shake-up due to the changes are over. Or I'm liquidating the cards with a loss and I'll use the funds to trade more.
I'm kinda slacking off utilizing my voting power and 2nd layer tokens, to fix that I think I have to add that to my weekly goals. So for the next week, I'm adding 20 daily votes to my schedule.
I might start playing tournaments soon, so I started collecting SPS. In addition, I'm going to create a tournament article, about potential ROI for the upcoming Social Media Challenge. Let's hope I finally start receiving upvotes again.
