11:30 PM: Editing...12:30 AM: Binging Bridgerton

in #hive-151662last month

So at 11:30PM one night, I’m on my dining table, editing a hive post on my system, with droopy eyes. My head is bobbing up and down as I repeatedly doze off and wake up. I was almost done; I just needed to put some glitter on the right side of my thumbnail and then download it and add it to my post.

All of a sudden I get a notification on my phone. I subconsciously grabbed it off the table and checked to see what it was. It was a random text from one of the many group chats I belonged to. I didn’t bother reading; I just scrolled on to the page that showed my contacts’ statuses.

I watched a bit of them and then finally got to one where a friend of mine was giving her review of the newly released season of Bridgerton. What? When did they release these? I’d been dying to see it.

In that moment, all traces of sleep vanished from my eyes as I proceeded to download them. I’m pretty sure the clock read 12:28 PM when I pressed play on the first episode, my unfinished work now long forgotten.

Mind you, I had worked that day, from 8 AM to 6 PM; that’s why I was so tired. I still don’t know where the energy came from that night; what I do know is that I watched that show back to back, from episode one to episode four, each episode spanning for almost an hour. I finished it by 5 AM.

So I spent approximately 4 and a half hours on the series. Compared to some other shows I have binged, 4 and a half hours don’t seem like too much. But I chose to write about it because of how impromptu it was.

Who would have thought I’d be swaddled in a heavy blanket, alone in my dining room in the middle of the night, with the lights off and the AC on full blast, crying at a romantic scene from Bridgerton😅😅. But lo and behold, there I was, with a tissue in hand.

When I was done, I remember sending a long voice note to a friend of mine, informing him that I had just finished watching it and that he did not deserve to live life without seeing it as well. This happened at 4:35 AM 😅😅.

Men, I was so grateful I watched it. Surprisingly, after this ordeal, I went back to finish up with the editing of the post, except this time, I was spiritually refreshed and deeply at peace😅

I remember not going back to bed that day because not too long after, the day broke and everyone woke up. Luckily I didn’t have to go to work that day.

I would describe that experience as a well-deserved guilty pleasure😅; I hadn’t done that in a long time!

Thanks for reading🤗🤗

I also cannot explain why the droopy eyes and sleepy head bounce back to life once a good movie is on 😂😂😂

Its like magic.

Exactly😅
Me that couldn't wait to go to bed that night, all of a sudden I stayed up all night.

😂😂😂😂

My dear! When the movie is going too well, the energy comes from nowhere even after a long day 😅

I'm yet to see the season 3 of Bridgeton, I know I'm missing out. Well, congrats on that well deserved rest (guilty pleasure) lol.

the energy comes from nowhere even after a long day 😅

I'm telling you😅

You are definitely missing out. Penelope and I can't remember the guy's name. But you will absolutely love it!!

I'll see it once I'm done with the series I'm seeing now 😊
