It's been a pumpy ride anyway. Let's begin our look at history for today from the world of music and entertainment.

We begin today from the world of music and entertainment [The birthday 🎂🎈 of John Legend]. On this day in 1978, an American acclaimed singer, songwriter and pianist, John Legend was born in Springfield, Ohio, U.S.A.

From the world of music and entertainment, we move over to France [the death of Gustave Eiffel]. Do you also know that on this day in 1923, Gustave Eiffel the famous designer of the historical Eiffel Tower, a monument that is now associated with the city of Paris, died in Dijon, France at the age of 91 years.

From France, we move over to the United Kingdom, precisely England [the death of Mary II]. Now, on this day in 1694, Mary II, who was Queen of England, Scotland, and Ireland between 1689 –1694 and wife of King William III passed away as a result of smallpox in London at age 32 years.

From the United Kingdom, we move over to India [the birthday of Ratan Tata]. Do you know that on this day in 1937, Ratan Tata, an Indian tycoon and one time chairman of Tata group between 1991– 2012 and 2016–2017, a Mumbai based conglomerate was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), India.

From India, we move over to Uganda [the birthday of Milton Obote]. Do you know that on this day in 1924, Milton Obote, a Ugandese politician who led his country Uganda to independence in 1962 and became the Prime Minister thereafter from 1962 – 1970 and twice as President between 1966 –1971, 1980 –1985 was born in Akoroko village, Lango, Uganda.

Gentlemen, we'll round off our today's look in history from India [the posthumous birthday 🎂 of Liu Xiaobo]. Do you know that on this day in 1955, Liu Xiaobo, a Chinese literary icon, Professor and human rights crusader, the first Chinese citizen to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (that was in 2010), was born in Changchun, Jilin province, China.
