One day Hotei came into town. Hotei, known as Budai in China, was a fat Zen monk who always had a smile on his face. In the West he is often referred to as "The Laughing Buddha" or sometimes "The Fat Buddha", and is often confused for the historic Buddha, Shakyamuni. Hotei was well known at this time and in this place as a monk who had achieved enlightenment. Just as most laypeople today aren't quite sure what that term actually means, it was the same at that time

When we take things personally, we basically consider external events or other people's behavior as if they were somehow directed specifically at us. It's like wearing some kind of a filter that dismantles reality, making everything about ourselves or directed to us. For example, if someone criticizes our work, we simply feel attacked and hurt, assuming it reflects our worth as a person; but it is not true all the time. Life can be a lot of fun only if we find our true selves and people who are truly for us. No backbiting, no hating, no sort of negative energy. But, life is a rollercoaster ride as it gives to us both parties; positive and negative vibers. It was kinda sad yet funny(maybe as she put it out) as I read a tweet by a lady from X. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry for her. You know, when people are hurt, sometimes, they just try to act strong in the face of many(making a joke) while their heart is ripped apart by the claws of someone so close to them
