Hello ladies of hive it's been a while since I wrote in this wonderful community. Ma'am @elizabethbit's question for this week is very accurate for a Filipina like me and how?
What is the earliest you have ever decorated for the Holidays? Tell us the traditional start time for your culture and your specific earliest you've decorated and why you chose to start early.
We Filipinos had a tradition of; when Ber months started we brought out our Christmas decorations. Yes, I already saw that from our relatives, makes me want to think if Halloween is already done LoL. Then I aked my mom, mom why they already stand their Christmas tree while we are not? She said that she respects the day of the deads which is November 1 and November 8 is her father's birthday after that were ready to stand our big Christmas tree. It reaches our ceiling, it came from her siblings abroad about 5'5 feet or six. The Christmas music that mom used is old as her 😅. It's an antique that her mother past her. But it's all working good, my mother is a big fan of old stuff it makes her highlights the wonderful memories of her childhood.
When I was kid, every ber months I'm so excited it's like Christmas is so near. I studied in a Catholic school and we do not celebrate the Halloween. So I never experienced to trick or treat but I've seen a lot of people wearing scary costume every November. In the mall, cemetery. And coincide with Christmas decorations so I've focused on so much better Christmas is coming. The malls music was changed to Christmas songs last Christmas I gave you my heart but the very next day you give it away. It was my favorite, he really broke my heart. The bridges has lights, parol or lantern that are famous on our country. You can appreciate it's beauty when night comes, all you can is their beautiful colors.
But after I had a family on my own Christmas went hard for me, our life was not easy. I can't even bring my kids to the mall, leisure is not a big deal for my husband. Even my kids are doing there best to impress their father. Deep inside Christmas is what my mom taught me. The birth or birthday of Jesus. What mom really focused on Christmas decorations; her Belen the one that mother Mary gave birth to Jesus. And the star above the Christmas tree is the way to see Jesus. For us Christmas is were people gave us so much joy they share us food gifts and unexpected blessings. Sometimes when you we faced a hard time there's still hope. Because every year we celebrate the birthday of Jesus. The one who sacrifice his self to the world. It's not paradise that his father wanted to happen, but we human keep the balance of the world. And it's up to us if we want to be the good or bad. We just live the way we needed and this celebration's will bring us joy and unity.
