September 28th, 2024Ā Ā Ā This week's raffle is nearly two days late, but better late than never I guess. Since 2010 I've lived on and off in Cambodia and have never had a single guest from abroad come just to see me. Things have changed though, and tomorrow morning I'll be driving the tuk-tuk to pick up two guests from Sweden that are coming to live with us and give life in Cambodia a try. For the past week I've been trying to get the house more organized, the cabin ready for guests, and also trying to enjoy make time for my daughters during their one-month end of the school year break.
Ā Ā Ā Today is all about getting caught up with ASEAN Hive work and preparing the tuk-tuk for a long road trip, so I'll probably change the oil and do some other routine maintenance before setting off. I haven't been able to earn a much-needed income from my blog because my wife's physical and mental health issues have kept her out of action for several months. My time spent cleaning, cooking, and parenting have kept me from focusing on earning an income and now we are flirting with financial disaster.
Ā Ā Ā I really hope these young kids from Sweden can be a lifeline to us, it's certain that my house needs a boost, I need some help with ASEAN Hive, and my wife likely needs a part-time caregiver. Years of living with someone that suffers from extreme depression and other physical/mental health issues are starting to take a toll on me too, and now I find myself not enjoying life as much as I could, so I give thanks for the positive space that ASEAN Hive is to me. How The VIP Delegator Raffle Works
Ā Ā Ā Every raffle I tally the total HP delegated to the @asean.hive curation account, and one raffle ticket is allocated for each HP delegated by you ASEAN Hivers (excluding [me] @justinparke, @srey-yuu, @sakana & @sreypov), with a minimum delegation of 50 HP to be eligible for the ASEAN Hive VIP š„ BRONZE Raffle.
Ā Ā Ā There are five separate raffles, one for each VIP tier, and each tier's prize is a post beneficiary status equivalent to the tier's total percentage of raffle tickets allocated. This means the percentages of each tier's share of the prize is fluid, and I think it makes the raffle more fun and fairer.
Ā Ā Ā This week's total effective HP is 172,267, and total delegated HP is 156,865 HP (125,799 HP minus ASEAN team member delegations & delegations under 50 HP), so I plugged the numbers into my Raffle Picker iOS app, selected "pick winners," and the results were instantly and randomly calculated.
