Hi all! Welcome back to my #running blog!
After the Coast Marathon last weekend, I did a quick turn around in order to prepare for the NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025. My recovery phase consists out of slightly less kilometers in the week and shorter individual runs. Where the Sunday morning is normally my long run day (>26km) I settled for a mid distance run of 20 km bringing my weekly total to 60 kilometers.
The weather forecast for last night was harsh, -5C with a chance of snow. Luckely there was no snow and apart from really cold winds I would expect the temperature I little higher compared to the forecast (would expect -2 to 0 C), which as long as it is dry is pretty good weather to run!
I did a mix of paved and unpaved roads including a 2 kilometer run on the open field - which are normally covered with area’s of slimmy mud, but due to the frozen underground that was a very nice run!
My pace was interesting - I aimed to do a slow(er) run today but the freezing headwind required me to go a little faster (forgot my gloves) but I only noticed this when there was tailwind again where it hardly cost any effort to maintain the pace.
Overall the sights were amazing, the run was nice so for me the perfect way to start my Sunday early morning!
Happy running!
