I will therefore take us round the globe in a giffey to have a look at some of those historical events that took place on this day, monday the 03/09/2024 in history.
We begin today from the world of space exploration. Do you know that on this day in 1976, the robotic Viking 2 spacecraft from NASA land on Mars after a nearly year-long voyage. From the world of criminality and famous outlaws, we move over to Qatar. Now, on this day in 1971, Qatar officially became independent from the United Kingdom.
From Qatar, we move over to the United States of America. On this day in 1894, Labor Day was celebrated as a legal holiday in the United States for the first time.
Gentlemen, we'll round off our today's look in history from Tunisia. Do you know that on this day in 1936, Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, an army officer and politician who served as President of Tunisia from 1987 to 2011 was born near Sousse, Tunisia.
