From India, we move over to the world of international organisations. Do you also know that on this day in 1991, North Korea and South Korea were admitted to the United Nations.
From the world of international organizations, we move over to the events of WWII. Now, on this day in 1939, the Polish leadership fled to Romania when the Soviet army invaded Poland from the east during World War II, joining Germany, which had begun its attack many weeks earlier.
From the events of WWII, we move over to Algeria. Do you know that on this day in 2021, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a Moroccan-born Algerian politician who served as Algeria's President from April 1999 to April 2019, when widespread unrest forced him to resign died in Zéralda, Algeria.
Gentlemen, we'll round off our today's look in history from Angola. Do you know that on this day in 1922, Agostinho Neto, an Angolan poet, surgeon, and politician who became the People's Republic of Angola's first president from 1975 to 1979 was born in Icolo e Bengo, Angola.
