[Self-development] 30-days Challenge

in #hive-16640816 days ago

This year, I promised to work hard on myself. I decided to improve my quality of life, my health and myself. And based on it I wrote down my Bucket list.

Two days ago, I started my 30-day challenge. To be honest, it is the first time I have done it. No, I have done other challenges, but they were absolutely different. At least I have never said NO to yummy cakes :)

So, my 30-day challenge includes 3 main things I do every day during the month.

1. No snakes, no cakes, no candies.

Some people will say 'It is a no sugar' challenge. But actually, we have sugar or glucose in some good products or dishes. For example, some fruits, veggies, etc. I decided just to exclude from my life snakes, cakes and candies. Oh and chocolate. With chocolate, it wasn't so difficult, because I don't like it much, so I don't eat it much.

2. Plank

Every day I do the plank for 30 seconds. I read some posts and feedback from people who did the plank challenge. And most of them say that after 3-5 days you will do the plank for 1 min easily. What I can say is that it is the 5th day today and I am still super happy when my timer rings on the 30th second.

3. Read 50 pages

I have a long list of books I want to read this year. So, I decided to start a book-reading challenge too. I picked up the first book that Amazon recommended to me. Maybe that recommendation was based on the books I have on my Kindle account....
So, I started my challenge with 'The Answer Is No: A Short Story' by Fredrik Backman. But since there are just 68 pages in the book, I read it all on the first day of the challenge.

So now I am reading another book 'Last Patient of the Night' by Gary Gerlacher that I also bought on Amazon Kindle. I mean 90% of books I buy and read on Kindle. I don't know if there is any better app.

Tomorrow I will finish that book and I need to find another book to read next. Any recommendations?

5 days of challenge. My thoughts...

To be honest, it isn't as difficult having no sweets in life as I thought. Maybe that is because my theory is working. In the very beginning, I thought that if you exclude something that isn't so healthy or good what you like from your life you need to add something good that you like. In my case, it is meat :) I started eating more meat. I don't eat a loooot but 5 days ago I started to eat a little bit more than before :)

I believe in the balance. So, there should be a balance in anything. If you exclude something then add another thing.

Why challenge

Maybe you are curious why I am doing that challenge. That challenge is not only about adding something useful to my life but also about a big dream. I made a wish and thought if I finished that challenge successfully then my dream would come true. Maybe it sounds childish but let's see. And in any case, such challenges make us more disciplined, organized, and healthy!

Thank you.
Your Iris.
