Hello all! Here we are—the last week of 2024! Wow. Another year, come and almost gone. And so here we are, my last #myhivegoals post of the year, a series idea started by started by @jongolson. This also doubles as my weekly progress report for #saturdaysavers, which is a fun little group that tries to motivate everyone to save and reach their goals. I’m going to look at the progress I’ve made on my Hive goals, as well as give a few tokens I’m looking at right now. If you are here for the comment SBI giveaway, well, we’ll get to that too.
Let’s start with my Hive goals.
Hive & HBD
My goal for this year was 35k and my stretch goal was 40k. I blew past both of them! Very awesome.
Last week I made 317.56, bringing me to 41486.09 total Hive Power.
So yeah, this has been a pretty successful year in terms of my HIVE goal. Not entirely successful, because my organic growth has been even lower than last year and the only reason I made my goals was HIVE got really cheap for awhile and I bought a lot of it. But I suppose hitting a goal is good regardless of how it happens. Still—I will hope to organically make a bit more next year. Maybe some whales will finally come and start voting on my posts!
I’m thinking next year I’m going to set my goal as 60k. Then 70k for my stretch goal.
I’m also thinking of powering down a bit so that I can take advantage of these price pumps. I would be doing this with an eye towards making money and growing my HP even higher and not cashing out. I’m not especially interested in taking profits from my HIVE holdings until HIVE gets above $1 or not higher, so any and all trading gains will be compounded. For instance, if I power down enough take out 5000 then I manage to double that if (when?) HIVE gets up to $1, then I can power up half and be right back where I was, then try to use the other half to increase more again.
I don’t know how exactly I will handle a power down in my goals reporting if I do that. But I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Second Layer Tokens
Token | Last week total | Goal | Needed | Note |
---|---|---|---|---|
— | 2000 | 0 | Goal Met | |
— | 100k | 0 | Goal Met | |
BRO | 5.229 | 1000 | 367.412 | 63.3% of the way there! |
And this would seem to finish the year for my Hive-Engine token goals. I was able to meet my LGN and PIMP goals. BRO eluded me, but that’s mainly because the price never dipped and I don’t know that it’s worth paying what would be around $1500 USD to get to my goal there. I did buy it many times this past year when the price dipped, but those dips didn’t happen nearly enough.
I think I will still keep the BRO goal passively for next year. But passively is the keyword. I’ll continue to make and renew my buy orders for when it dips down to my buying range, but I’m not going to actively chase it where it is right now.
I’m still not sure what my other Hive Engine goals will be next year. There is nothing I’m really that excited about. I’d like more RUG, but I’m not sure if I want to make a goal of it. I’ll still thinking. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
Silver
The silver chart for last week:
Le sigh. Back under $30. Well, maybe when this bubble in the stock market bursts next year, silver will finally see an increase that sticks.
Here is a great looking coin that I came across today:
2024 Germania Artefacts: Gjallarhorn 1 oz Silver Round (BU). That is a sweet looking coin. Gjallarhorn is the horn of Heimdallr, the sounding of which will signify the beginning of Ragnarök.
Heimdallr rise up and blow mightily in the Gjallar-Horn, and awaken all the gods; and they shall hold council together.
High blows Heimdallr, the horn is aloft;
Odin communes with Mimir’s head;
Trembles Yggdrasill’s towering Ash;
The old tree wails when the Ettin is loosed.
Ahh… it’s hard to beat Anglo-Saxon poetry. Anyway, what a cool coin! Get it here.
