Preaching the gospel is a common that requires resources to do so. We have to bring our resources to support the course of the gospel. The ways by which many christian denomination gather their resources for this purpose differs. In all, it is expedient that the methodology for raising funds for church work conforms to the biblical principles.

We cannot walk against the Truth. We can do the work of God contrary to the Word of God. The Word of God is our guide in doing whatever we are doing in the church of God.

2 Corinthians 9:5-7 (KJV) Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

On the subject of giving, we have been hearing many things about giving tithes. Tithing was practiced by Abraham and the Israelites. It was enforced in the Old Testament as one of the laws which the children of Israel were to observe.

In the New Testament, we do not see tithing being enforced. We are admonished to give for the work of the gospel. Bro Eli Soriano explained to us in this video that we are to give without enforcement. We are to give out of our own willingness. So, the law of tithing is not enforced in this dispensation. We can give our offering bountifully and cheerfully. We are to give out of our own willingness.
