One day when I was in my hometown, I woke up in the morning and wondered how much snow had fallen. I immediately looked outside, the place was white. It snowed again at night. It was too cold to go out. The roads were blocked. Those who wanted to walk would have difficulty.

Yollar kapanmıştı. Yürümek isteyenler zorluk çekecekti.
Then the trees caught my attention. The trees looked like the trees in the pictures we drew about winter in primary school. They were covered with snow, but the places where the snow could not reach were exposed. The snow continues to fall from time to time. Along with the snow, the cold showed itself more and more. The ground is frozen. Birds were cold on the trees. They took shelter under their wings without moving.

This is their endeavour to get food. Next to your house there is a fruit called Rowan, the black date. Crows also had their share of this fruit. Rowan is a small fruit with a sweet flavour. This fruit starts to blossom in spring. Its ripening lasts until winter. It is not affected by winter in any way. It is resistant to cold. It is an indispensable food for birds in winter.
Yine kuş türlerinden biri olan kargalar çok kar yağdığında evlerin etrafında çok görünür. Bunun dışında köyde çok karga görmedim. Büyük ihtimalle yiyecek bulamıyorlar. There was frost at night and the ground was covered with frost. When my father saw that there was frost outside, he said that he would come and look at our garden, which was 10-15 minutes walking distance from our house. Because the weather was sunny and beautiful for two weeks, the hazelnuts started to open leaves early. These leaves cannot withstand the cold when there is frost and there are no hazelnuts. My father was going to see if the hazelnut trees were affected by frost. So I went with him.
Gece don olmuş, yerler don tutmuştu. Babam dışarıda don olduğunu görünce evimize 10-15 dakika yürüme mesafesi olan bahçemize bakıp geleceğini söyledi. Çünkü iki hafta boyunca havalar güneşli ve güzel olduğu için fındıklar erken yaprak açmaya başlamıştı. Bu açan yapraklar don olduğunda soğuğa dayanamıyor ve fındık olmuyor. Babamda fındık ağaçlarını dondan etkilenmiş mi diye bakacaktı. Bende onunla birlikte gittim.
On the way to the garden, we had a little difficulty walking because of the snow. While walking on the road, the trees could not withstand the weight of the snow on them and bent to the road. We came to the garden after 10-15 minutes. Hazelnut trees were almost buried in snow. The trees had stopped opening leaves. Since the leaves were not fully opened, they were not affected by the cold. If the weather was not too cold, hazelnuts would be lucky. After staying here for about half an hour, we started to walk back home. The snow scenery was also very beautiful. I took a few photos of these views. As I was walking, snow got into my boots because the snow level exceeded my feet and I got a little cold. But despite the cold, it was very nice to walk in the snow and watch the scenery.

Bahçeye giderken kar oluğu için yürümekte biraz zorlandık. Yolda yürürken ağaçlar üzerindeki karların ağırlığına dayanamayıp yola eğilmişti. Bahçeye 10-15 dk sonra geldik. Fındık ağaçları adeta kara gömülmüştü. Ağaçlar yaprak açmaya durmuştu. Yapraklar tam açmadığı için soğuktan çok etkilenmezdi. Biraz da havalar soğuk gitmezse fındığın şansı yaver giderdi. Burada yarım saat kadar durduktan sonra eve dönmek için yürümeye başladık. Kar manzarası da çok güzeldi. Bu manzaralardan birkaç fotoğraf çektim. Yürürken kar seviyesi ayağımı geçtiği için botlarımın içine kar girdi ve biraz üşüdüm. Ama soğuğa rağmen karda yürümek ve manzara seyretmek çok güzeldi.
