We never know what will come in life and when. For a few days now, a grinding noise has been coming from the left wheel of my car. At first, I couldn't understand why this sound was coming from, but then I thought it was probably coming from the brake pads since I had changed them a long time ago.
After coming to work, I first bought a new pad to take it to a brake shop and ask him where to get the pads installed. I went to the mechanic who was described to me and explained the situation, I told him that such a sound was coming, he told the mechanic next to him because he was busy, I explained the situation to him. They said the problem would be fixed after the brake pads were changed, but they didn't even do a test drive and check what the sound was. Anyway, after changing the brake pads, I thought the sound would stop after a certain period of time, but the sound was still coming, there was no change.
After a day or two passed, I came back to the same mechanic and told him that the sound was not gone. He asked me how many kilometers I had driven. He said, "Do a thousand kilometers and then the sound will get better." Anyway, I waited for the sound to get better. I did some kilometers and then when it didn't get better, I came back. This time, he got in the car and took a test drive. He said that he did not hear any sound during the test drive. This time we rode together and after driving for a while, I told him when I heard a sound and he said that this sound was not from the pads but from the wheel distributing the ball bearings.
I called a mechanic to have the wheel repaired, I asked someone who came to me, he said we were mechanics, so I went there. He looked at the car and said he was distributing marbles. I told him how much the repair would cost. He said it would be 4,000 - 5,000 Turkish liras, approximately $100 - $160, and it would vary depending on the situation. I didn't have it done, I went somewhere else. I asked someone else and I said I have a problem like this. He said, "Any repairman can do this job, you can go to the repairmen over there." I went to a mechanic there and first asked him how much he would do it. He said that the labor cost would be 600₺ + 200₺ for a lathe. He said it would cost 800₺ in total. Among the broken parts, there were two quality bearings, 450₺ and 700₺. I bought the one that was 700₺, and a part called the hub was defective, and that was 500₺. The entire repair job cost me ₺ 2,000, approximately $60-$65. If I had had it done at the first place I asked, I would have had the same procedure done at a higher price.

Hayatta neyin ne zaman geleceğini bilemeyiz. Bir kaç günden beri arabamın sol tekerinden sürtme sesine benzer bir ses gelmeye başladı. İlk başlarda bu sesin neden kaynaklandığını anlayamadım daha sonrasında balataları çok öncesinde değiştirdiğim için muhtemelen balatalardan geliyordur diye düşündüm.
İşe geldikten sonra bir frenciye götürüp balataları taktırmak için ilk önce yeni bir balata aldım oradan balataları nerede taktıracağımı sordum.Bana tarif edilen ustaya gidip durumu anlattım böyle bir sesin geldiğini söyledim yoğunluktan yanındaki ustasına söyledi, durumu ona da anlattım. Balatalar değişiktikten sonra sorunun düzeleceğini söylediler ama herhangi bir deneme sürüşü yapıp sesin ne olduğuna bakmadılar bile neyse fren balatasını değiştirdikten sonra belli bir müddet geçince ses keser diye düşündüm ama ses yine geliyordu herhangi bir değişiklik olmamıştı.
Aradan bir iki gün geçtikten sonra tekrardan aynı ustaya gelip sesin gitmediğini söyledim kendisi de kaç kilometre yaptığımı sordu bin kilometre yap ondan sonra ses düzelecektir dedi neyse sesin düzelmesini bekledim.Biraz kilometre yaptım sonra yine düzelmeyince tekrardan geldim bu defa arabaya bindi ve deneme sürüşü yaptı ve bu deneme sürüşünde herhangi bir ses duymadığını söyledi bu defa beraber bindik biraz sürdükten sonra ses gelince söyledim ve bu sesin balatadan değil tekerin bilye dağıttığını söyledi.
