The words I sang, stuck in my mind,
Held a truth that kept me whole
When in my desert of the soul.
They led my steps when I was blind,
Through rivers I would have to wade,
Valleys of bone left out to fade.
But every time my end was nigh,
These words resound through space and time.

When, through no fault to call my own,
My innocence tore asunder
And darkened waves upon me thundered,

Although the shadowfiends may try

So though the darkness, creeping slowly,
Threatening to swallow whole
The twinkling fire of my soul,
