Greetings Dear Readers;

.
What a Principle to give us pause. ..'If you are not thankful for what you have, you will complain about what you do not have.'

Sometimes there are Principles that just require we mull them over...give them time to sink in and go from there.

These timeless truths have stood the test of time and can bear repeating and perhaps even writing them down...preparing your own list of principles that resonate with you. America's First President George Washington had a list of 100 Principles he penned as a young man and kept faithfully by his side so the story goes.

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

.
Kind Regards,

Bleujay

.

Principles are timeless truths as relevant today as they were yesterday and will be tomorrow.

Giving thanks is easy and rewarding when someone helps us, for example you help me and I feel very grateful, I will not tire of thanking you, and asking GOD to always protect you.
A hug with much affection and respect

Greetings @lupega ,

Appreciate your kind comment. ^__^

Keep up the good work.

Kind Regards, Bleujay

How true is that.

In the relentless pursuit of success and comfort, I find it easy to take for granted the victories I have made and the lifestyle blessings I have attained. I don’t want to languish in the past or dwell on anything but what I can do to make the future better. Success is at the top of an escalator going downward and stopping to pat yourself on the back will make you lose ground!

That being the case, more time spent being thoughtful and thankful is definitely in order for us all. Work hard AND be thankful for what you have.

Wonderful fall photography and artwork too!

Greetings @zekepickleman ,

What a thought-full comment...so true!

Thank you for the smiles. ^__^

Kind Regards to you and yours,

always, but always, we must be grateful with life for how much or how little we have, there are certainly times when we are dissatisfied but that should not happen

Greetings @hjrrodriguez ,

Happy to hear from you....so true.

Yes...we are humans after all...thus a wee reminder to seek the high ground.^__^

Kind Regard to you and your familia,

Bleujay

I see you've done it again. Saved the best until last, that image of the leaves is lovely and soothing for the mind - thank you for that.

In response to your latest principle for us to consider I have to be honest and say I'm not sure how to take that one. I see so much corruption and ugliness in the world that I find myself mired in anger a lot of the time. But your principle does resonate with me and has plenty of meaning. For I should always find the time to put my anger to one side and realise I have a lot more than many others have and I will always acknowledge that.

Greetings @peaceandmoney ,

Happy to hear you appreciated the photograph of the close-up of the leaves and clover.....thank you!

C.S.Lewis had a lovely legacy of writings and I want to say some address what you have described here....if I come across something applicable I will add it here. For Bleujay....the policy...'I am aware but not distracted'....Adversity is inevitable , Stress is optional.

Was it the Series 'Detective Morris'? The series with the Detective who would come home from work and listen to classical music whilst he thought things through sitting in a comfortable chair. Or how about the Pirot Series...with his grey cells...and objective ways.

Accept that bad things happen...As one reporter said after he was in the presence of a very evil ruler...Once I saw that Evil Exists then I knew there was Good....Simon Black.

This Principle I hope assists in changing our perspective from negative to positive.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

I'm so pleased to see you mentioned C.S Lewis - what an awe inspiring man and author.

Adversity is inevitable, Stress is optional. Now that is something I could buy into, if I knew how! I have not heard of Detective Morris but a man who finishes the working day by sitting in an armchair listening to classical music is a man who appreciates the finer things in life.

Pirot series? Perhaps you mean Poirot here - the famous Belgian detective created by Agatha Christie. He was another refined, intelligent gentleman, we are in desperate need of more people like that in this world.

Yes you have to accept the acceptance of the uglier things in life, I quite agree. I guess in that acceptance is a freedom. I really appreciate the words of Simon Black, I will have to do some research on him as I've never heard of that man, thanks for bringing him to my attention @bleujay.

Thank you also for that wonderful comment, it does indeed help me to contextualise things, particularly assisting in the skill of positive thinking over negative thinking.

My pleasure @peaceandmoney?

Thank you for the correct spelling of Agatha Christie's Detective Poirot....yes...such a gentleman. ^__^

You replied....'if only I knew how'.....through timeless truths including Biblical truths.

Truth marches on with or without us.

Evil marches on with or without us.

C.S. Lewis once said in an interview....I only see two kinds of men....saved or unsaved...interesting.

Kind Regards, Bleujay

I am obsessed with your gorgeous Autumnal watercolor painting at the bottom of your post! How on earth did you manage to keep the watercolors from seeping into white areas where the leaves' "veins" are? And the acorn adds the perfect touch. Very clever!

You are a very talented and creative person with all forms of artistic expression: photography, painting, writing, et cetera.

Have a terrific weekend!
@bleujay

What a lovely comment....Very much appreciate hearing your thoughts.

As for the Watercolour....since I work wet paint onto dry paper, The paint will only go into the area where I place the brush...however there are times when I wet certain areas of the paper so the paint will gently bleed into another area....make sense.

I place other artworks at Snaps as it seems the perfect venue for art.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Thank you @ninahaskin !

We must always be grateful for what we have, even if by nature we are people who are not satisfied, the important thing is to thank God because when reality hits us in the face, we will value what we have.

Greetings @ferod23 ,

Well said!

It is true...it is a principle...'Man is never satisfied.' ^__^

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Very nice photos of changing time and coming autumn. Could I be thankful of what I have and complain about what I couldn’t have at the same time?

I could complain about the uncertainty of the future and things I couldn’t have or improved in the near future.

Life is always changes and so are my thoughts!!

Greetings @kaminchan ,

Appreciate your kind reply. ^__^

The Principle presents two thoughts which are diametrically opposed to each other....Illustration...I am hungry....I am not hungry.

Thus the reason I wrote...'this is a Principle to mull over' , give a think. give it a go. It has us thinking already....

Kind Regards, Bleujay

Good morning @bleujay!
Yes, gratitude is sometimes something that seems to appear, but hangs in the air like an autumn fallen leaf that met a spider's web on its way and never touched the ground.

There is always something to thank God for, but people forget about it, and it is easier to thank people and this adds points to what pagans call karma, because you will become higher in the eyes of the one you thanked, or showed respect, and God, for many, is absolutely immaterial and at best you can light a candle in a temple once during some holiday.

Beautiful photographs, I like these special, deep colors.

As for the watercolors, they are unsurpassed! :)

Have a blessed day! !BEER !DIY
