Yesterday, I felt like eating chicken breast for dinner and off we went to our nearby local grocery store to pick up some ingredients. I found a recipe online, but I referenced it as I didn't follow the ingredient list exactly.
Here’s what I’ve used for this recipe, which are simple ingredients that can be found in most household kitchens:
● Garlic (Minced)
● Black Pepper Powder
● Salt
● Cooking Oil
● Chicken Breast
Next, I moved on to the marinating process. I minced the garlic and mixed it up with pepper, salt, and oil. I then added the chicken breast to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or even better, overnight in the refrigerator. However, I only let it sit for 1 hour before cooking.
After marinating, I heated up the pan over high heat and carefully placed the chicken breast on the pan with a little bit of oil. I let it sear for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until it was golden brown and cooked through. The chicken breast should have a nice golden crust on the outside, while inside should be juicy and tender. If it's dry and hard, it's overcooked for too long. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Finally, the most headache part, cleaning the kitchen. Oil will be on every kitchen surface, which reminds me why I stopped pan searing for quite a long time. However, the end result is worth it but just not doing this every week 😂.
