Raiding my old Bedroom
My regular readers will know that I have done a few posts in recent months on some of my old bits and pieces from childhood.
Let me fill in the details.
I called to my parents house a couple of months back and they weren't in. I was about to turn on my heel, but my three boys were with me and asked if they could see my old room as they like to do sometimes, and so we popped upstairs in my parents house and had a look, and we uncovered some interesting bits and pieces.
Old photos, sticker books, mementos and old equipment, including old cameras and a wireless as they were called then, we call them radios now. I got the old equipment handed down as I thought they looked really cool back in the day.
This post is about the match and racing programs I found and today it's about this match programme from the Club Championship finals back in 1998. Here in Ireland we have our own National sports in Gaelic Football and Hurling.
Each parish or locality in our country has a GAA club and they all battle it out each year to be the best club in their county and if they win this they can go on to battle it our to win their provincial title. Then if they win that, they can get to the All Ireland final which traditionally used to take place on St. Patrick's day.
Those are the two trophies that they battle it out for each year.
Here are the teams that did battle and as you can see Galway had a team in both the Gaelic Football final and the Hurling final.
Here are all the other pages from the program for your reading pleasure.
