An auld reliable
I had a busy day today. It started off with my eight year old son's soccer training at 9:30am and I help with the coaching, so it was up at 8am to get the kids breakfast and then up there for 9:10 to help get things set up.
I had a load of things to get done in the afternoon then, which I got sorted and then my sister texted telling us that they were having an impromptu barbecue, so we joined them and it was really good.
I wasn't planning on having any beers today, but my wife offered to drive and my brother in law had some Punk IPAs in the fridge, so I enjoyed a few of them.
The Ireland vs England match was on too, so I was completely antisocial for a little while, as my eldest son and I wanted to watch the game. Ireland didn't do too bad, but still ended up losing 2-0.
There were lovely burgers, ribs, sausages and salads to help us get over that and we had a good old kick around in the front garden for good measure too.
My son played two matches over the weekend too. He played out a 1-1 draw with the U12s and they played brilliantly and were unlucky not to win. He also played the year up with the U13s, but unfortunately they were beaten 1-3 in that match.
My three boys all love their soccer and who knows maybe one day, they'll play soccer for Ireland?
