Drinking coffee is not just for the hype. More than that. Taking a part of my self-care routine is the highlight.
Are there no other options for enjoying sweet drinks? That's what my husband always asks when I tell him to try my cup of matcha latte.
In a cup of matcha latte, there will be a strong bitter aftertaste, typical of green tea leaves. People who are used to matcha latte or pure green tea will become accustomed to the after taste. But my husband is not someone who is used to drinking coffee or lattes in his daily life.
I remember a funny moment when my husband only drank coffee as the days approached before we decided to get married. Ah, it seems like it's just a trick to attract my heart. And for real, he succeeded in doing that. :P*
Back to topic, for spill the beans coffee prompt week 63 Is coffee part of your self-care routine, or do you drink it only for the effect? I also choose that I enjoy coffee as my self-care routine, not only for the effect. Why? I need to keep myself in the best mood to focus and create new creative minds for my writing and cooking ideas. The self-care routine also thinks about health.
Talking about health, that's why I currently choose matcha latte over other lattes that only add flavor from syrup. Matcha comes from green tea powder, which is high in antioxidants that are good for various aspects of health, especially the skin.
When I'm at home, I choose black coffee with no sugar and no milk. Just original black coffee. Black coffee no longer tastes bitter to me. It actually feels light on the throat. In my opinion, matcha latte or original matcha latte with no milk actually has a more dominant bitter taste, just like we brew leaves with a high concentrate.
On this occasion, I visited my favorite coffee shop in the middle of the city. I come back here often because the coffee here is cheap, no more than $2. just around $1.5. so. Likewise with the snacks they provide at prices in the same range.
Usually, I just sit on the 1st floor of this coffee shop because I'm too lazy to climb the stairs. Meanwhile, this time I went up to the 2nd floor to look for a different atmosphere. My energy is also good in the middle of the afternoon. So, I have the enthusiasm to climb the stairs.
You can see for yourself that there is some graffiti as beautiful wall art, to beautify the room.
Apart from that, this room has a source of natural lighting with windows that are open wide. That's just the comfort side for me to work online.
The Matcha Latte I drank quickly turned darker in color as it oxidized. You can see foamy bubbles. Actually, the texture of matcha without milk is already creamy. This time is added more milk, so the texture of the drink I ordered was even creamier.
The bitter taste easily remains on my tongue as an after taste, but it also disappears easily. Changed with my body and mind feeling better.
As a self-care routine, I have had plans for a long time to buy special equipment to brew matcha powder at home. But, all the equipment, especially the matcha bowl and matcha bowl stirrer, which are made from bamboo, are not cheap. But I promise I will share the ritual of brewing matcha powder at home once I have put my plan into action.
well, a little addition before I close this coffee blog, I want to say that I enjoy fried cassava snacks as a snack before lunch. Both matcha latte and fried cassava are great accompaniments.
Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.
