Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
We were created by God for His purpose. We are existing to fulfill God's purpose. We are not existing because of our own purpose, we are here to do the purpose of God.
One of the purpose of God for our lives is to do good works to others. The Bible teaches us to do good unto all men. We were created unto good works.
When we are seeking to know the purpose of our creation, we should know that the purpose of our creation is in doing the will of God.
The will of God for our lives is to do good to all men. Good works are what God created us to come and do. Through good works we will be able to let people know that we are the disciples of Jesus Christ.
