Lego Land In The Rain

in #hive-1844373 months ago

Today was the day we promised my grandson we would visit Lego Land and he had not forgotten being up bright and early. I have never been before because when my kids went I was busy working and my grand parents stepped in.

Lego land was much bigger that I had thought thinking we would be there a couple of hours and have the afternoon free. I was wrong and we only left at around 5pm and even then had not seen everything there was to see. @talesfrmthecrypt mentioned last night that I should book online and get the discounts and this saved me around 26 GBP so thanks for the information.

We booked last night and had no idea what the weather had in stall, but we had already promised my grandson we were going and a promise is a promise.

Full scale model of a Ferrari made out of Lego was quite impressive o see and set us up for the builders zone where we build small cars and test them out on various tracks. I never built any and stole the models some of the kiddies built on display which was time well saved as I then tried to break the records and achieved a 1.1 second sprint race time which the rest of the family could not beat.

My grandson was more interested in the activities that he could get involved in like driving and was not that bothered about the Lego Model World which I found far more interesting. Just the scale of the time and number of pieces for each country or region is what fascinated me.

Windsor Castle took 8 builders 592 hours to build using just shy of 40 000 Lego pieces which is kind of nuts to comprehend.

The Empire State building was something like 90 000 Lego blocks and 3 months to build for 2 builders.

I enjoyed NASA and had to wait for the countdown even whilst standing in the rain just to get the smoke shot lol. Can you believe it I go to England and did not bring a jacket or a jersey. I forgot mid summer means absolutely nothing and one should always expect no sun and lots of rain.

Every display was well presented and thought out with the Welsh having school boy rugby and their national Anthem playing in the back ground.

If it moves my grandson will play with it and he was half asleep when we left to go home. This is what today was all about as he has had no real holiday as yet and will only start on Wednesday night when we hit France.

I will just add Fairy Tale Land into the mix because I found this quite impressive and was better than Little People World at Disneyland.

It is still hard to believe that every character you see is made out of Lego and must have taken months to get right. This is hard enough to make out of material that is not square or rectangular.

Cinderella doing the chores.

My personal favorite with Little red Riding Hood and the Wolf waiting inside.

Seven Dwarfs and could not quite manage to get them all in, but by this time the rain was getting heavier and I was already soaked. I think I had as much fun as my grandson and was not sure what to expect with this place today. Always have an open mind and just go with the flow.

Such a nice place, I want to visit here too🥰

That's a very cool place and I see your grandson had the fun of his life 😃

Thanks for showing your fun trip, I think we have one here in Orlando. You just gave me something to do with the Grandkids.

my gosh, my kids would have done their nut! I'm not surprised your grandson didn't let you forget! Amazing how incredible their memories are when it suits them teehee

The full-scale Ferrari model looks absolutely incredible. Building and racing cars must have been swimming fun. This is going to be a great memory for your grandson 🎉🎉🎉🥰💯

Dang, that's impressive! I have always been amazed by the way some people just know which pieces to put together to make something on the fly without a plan.

Nice place and the picture you showed also looks quite beautiful

I suppose people need to repair those lego statues a lot...

Also... I guess not having much sun means that they don't get burnt and bleached in the sun!

Can you imagine how long they would last here?

Kimberly, one hot summer day, they would literally melt. lol
