Staying consistent growing your crypto bags is easier said than done and is something I have mastered over the last 6 years. I knew that going away recently for a couple of weeks would leave me with certain challenges I haven't faced before like having no internet or no time.
Over the last 6 years I have planned my day so that there is always time for Hive and researching other crypto projects or projects I am already invested in. This has been easy to control even with the challenge of having no power because you are in surroundings where you can make a plan.
No post rewards today and is he first time in over 2 years this has happened on my account. Thankfully I would still be earning over 40 HIVE today through curation and the APR. Having 0 HIVE being earned would be a day wasted.
Consistency with a project like Hive is the key because through your activity you have rewards filtering through daily whether it is via curation or posting. I have some auto votes set on certain users I support, but generally the bulk of my voting is done manually as I enjoy reading the articles I upvote. The days that I never posted or curated meant I still had some rewards coming through plus the 3.16% APR that happens automatically. This is why having stake is actually very important because by even not logging in I was earing over 10 Hive daily.
My other main crypto stake like COTI was farmed and staked every other day so the growth remained consistent. I do believe many fail to understand the importance of this because this is how the compounding effect takes over earning interest on the interest you are earning daily creating a much larger stake. If you do this over many years which I have been doing you start to see how the numbers change.
This last Sunday was the day that really screwed me as for some reason the keys on my keyboard were playing up. I knew it had something to do with moving the laptop around as I had never logged into any free public wifi service including the hotels. The keyboard was throwing out 2 letters instead of 1 and would have made writing a post impossible along with logging in using a password on any crypto account. When I arrived home on Tuesday afternoon the problem had rectified itself and all it means is that I will need to replace the key board again within the next month or so. This would be the 3rd keyboard replacement within 6 years and highlights the demand blogging has on our equipment.
When we see the next Bull cycle and the TH's again I will be buying a new laptop just for Hive and my crypto and the current laptop will become back up and used for general internet use. Missing out on days at a time through no activity could equate to hundreds of dollars being lost and why when you can be active you need to make sure you are.
Growing our crypto bags is the most important action we can do right now and my latest travels have shown how expensive the world is today. What we have created in value accumulating our crypto over the last few years is more important than ever and while this is still fun it will become far more serious when the dollar numbers rise.
