Beneficial animals for the garden, Earthworm

in #hive-14008413 days ago

I have talked and will continue to do so in a section of the blog about animals that are harmful to the garden, but there are also many animals that are beneficial to the garden. These are the predators that help us control pests in the most efficient and clean way possible. Our job will be to attract them and respect them so that they can help us get the best harvests.

If there is an animal that is beneficial for the garden, it is without a doubt the earthworm. These small annelids are actually the giants that move the world, or at least the earth. If when you dig you find earthworms in your garden, you can be sure that you have good soil to cultivate.

These animals eat soil and then the already fertilized excrement. They metabolize the small food particles that are there and create what is called worm humus. You have surely heard about it because it is one of the best fertilizers there is and the most balanced for all types of plants. But in addition, earthworms aerate the soil with their movements, which makes it oxygenated and this benefits the bacteria that colonize the soil.
In turn, they are responsible for transforming the remains into the substances that the plants assimilate to have a healthy growth and give us those wonderful fruits.
In summary, if you have worms in your garden, you will have a healthy and productive garden.

Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
