🕺 Welcome to the Scholar and Scribe Invitational 🕺
The Invitational is our bi-weekly, super-duper, writing contest. It is where we match quills and draw blood all for the sake of the craft. We all know a 'friendly' competition never hurts anyone, much, especially when it can be used as a platform to improve your writing. 🙌
🧹 HOUSEKEEPING 🧹
I just wanted to say thank you to all the participants. I was afraid that since we went on hiatus the interest would be down, but you all proved me wrong by being awesome. So thank you.
🥳 Last Invitational Winners 🥳
🥇 Gold: 50 SCHOLAR, 3 SCRIBE, 2 HSBI, 300 Ecency points
@justclickindiva - An Older Adult Weekend Riverboat Excursion
Rushing to stock last minute supplies before heading to work, I made a quick stop at the grocers. That's me, Joel Klain, the procrastinator, both short and long term. Standing in the checkout line, my eyes immediately flew to the tabloid headline near the counter: Joella Klain's newest #1 best-seller. I quickly looked away pretending to search for pocket change to complete my purchase.
🥈 Silver: 40 SCHOLAR, 2 SCRIBE, 1 HSBI, 200 Ecency points
@loveth97 - Undercover Lover
Judy flinched as the door burst open, she ran up the stairs trying to locate a good hiding spot. She didn't have any weapons on her and fighting Pat was like trying to pour water into a river. She heard Pat run up the stairs after her, breathing heavily and stomping his foot.
🥉 Bronze: 30 SCHOLAR, 1 SCRIBE, 100 Ecency points
@rinconpoetico7 - Captive
The shackles hurt my wrists, my body faints from the fatigue of being hung. Gravity wants to dislocate my shoulders, but I resist, I want to live, to get out of this situation in which life has put me. I still don't know why, but here I am accompanied by these terrible pains.
🎖️ Runner Up: 50 Ecency points
@silher - La fotografía (Cuento) The photograph
*Benjamin took the photograph showing his family, all of them standing under that tree that for a long time guarded the entrance to the house. There they were, smiling; but he noticed the face of a woman he did not recognize and she was the only one who was not smiling. *

🤺 Genre Prompt 🤺
The story you submit MUST adhere to the following prompts:
🎥 Genre: Thriller
The cousin to the action genre! It felt fitting that our sequel prompt followed suit in the blockbuster summer season. Again folks, we judge the contest based on how closely you adhere to the genre. If there are two works, and one is better written than the other, but the other follows the prompt to a T - guess who will win? 🙃 So give us your best-written thriller! And good luck to you all!
May the odds - and your creative energy - be ever in your favor!
We'd like to give out a big shout-out and thank you to Ecency for sponsoring this contest! 🤗
A big thank you to @melinda010100 as well for the seamless communication.
Check out the Ecency front-end and/or mobile app for more information on how to use your points.
