This is our weekly interview post. We want to sharpen your senses for HIVE musicians, that´s why we made it our goal to interview a new musician every week.
There are a tremendous amount of very talented musicians on our HIVE Blockchain. Too many of them are going unnoticed. We at HMVF and Blocktunes are here to change that. Our interview series will let you get a look behind the curtain of some of these artists. Their music, their process, and their goals. Let us come together to support the music of HIVE.
Of course these posts will also have the purpose of collecting funds for HMVF, to be able to create as many music videos for these awesome artists as possible. 🎵

This week´s musician is M.A.N. (@man60360)
We got to know M.A.N. through the Rising Star/Atomcollector Community. He is an excellent electronic music producer and also experiments with different styles. We also spotted Reggaeton elements, which @ravenmus1c absolutely goes crazy about. 😄

First off, how did the artist name M.A.N. come about?
When I was in college, my friends used to use the nickname MAN for Emmanuel. It followed me to high school and also to college. When I started being a DJ, I took the name DJ MAN, and then when I started putting my songs on the web, I chose M.A.N.
How would you describe your sound?
The music I compose is quite varied. I tend to compose electro music, but I can play in different styles like techno, world music. What I like most of all is to mix styles of music or to include musical instruments, specific to one style of music, in another style.
For the last year or two, I started using Vocaloid technology, which is voice synthesis. This allows me to try my hand at composing music in the style of Jpop, or pop.
Which artists have had the greatest influence on you?
I’m a '70s kid. At the end of this period, and during the 1980s, I listened to many artists like Vangelis, Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield, Cerrone, Jean-Michel Jarre, Georgio Morroder. All these artists are in my compositions.
What is your songwriting process? How does a song come together for M.A.N.?
Sometimes I get on the keyboard and I play a series of chords, and from there will follow a melody, then the strings, and finally the bass. I also like to start from a sample found on the web and add musical patterns around. For the composition with the vocals, I first try to write the lyrics of the song, then I try to put a melody or a small melody to repeat on the refrain
What do you hope that the listener takes away from your music?
I hope to stir up emotion with my music.
How do you think being a part of the Hive blockchain will help your music career?
I think that the Hive Blockchain, offers a lot of possibilities to discover my music (streaming site, NFT). Every day, there are more and more users. The mutual assistance that exists between the artists is also very strong, a lot of sharing and initiatives (like this interview;))
Share a tip for other hard-working artists out there searching for success in the new music industry?
I don’t know if there are any tricks to break into the world of music. Enjoying music is more of a state of mind. When I compose, I let myself be carried away by what I feel. The rest is done by the listener.
If I were to give advice, do not seek to be loved by listeners, just seek to please yourself and the listeners.
What does the future hold for M.A.N.?
I am writing my second album. It takes a lot of time, but each time, I come back to a title to improve or modify it. There should be several musical styles such as electro, cinematic music, pop music, etc)
