Nickels minted between 1942 - 1945 are 35% silver. They are known as "silver war nickels".
There is nothing more satisfying than finding a silver coin in your change. The silver nickel hides very well, because most nickels are not silver, it looks very normal and blends in with other common change.
This one is unusual because it's still in decent shape. Far from perfect, but it's still shiny, some detail left and the dirty spots are actual silver tone! It's very odd to see silver tone on a nickel, but it can happen. Typical US nickels are 75% copper and 25% nickel metal. But because of the war-time demand of nickel metal, during WW2 the nickels were minted in 35% silver, 56% copper and 9% manganese. This alloy gives a nice silver appearance.
The best indicator that it's a silver nickel is the mint mark above Monticello. In this case a big "P", indicating it was minted in Philadelphia.
As time goes on and more and more people pull silver from the change, it becomes more and more rare. When people get scared, (like during 2020 covid) people would pull up their old change jars and put the coins into circulation. Many times these unsearched change jars contain silver or unique coins. It's a fun time to find treasures in change!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin
We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.
No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny
Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.
Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.
