Steam it
Mix it
Steam it
Serve it!

I'm a foodie and I like experimental cooking.
The title is quite long, isn't it? Because I don't know how to call this recipe so I just combine all ingredients in it, lol.
Haven't I shared here recently that we moved to a new place? The place is good, but I dislike some aspects. One thing I don't like is the number of restaurants on the bottom floor. Why? Because the aroma of foods from those restaurants lingers in the air and travels up to our flat, and I can smell them, lol. They make me want to crave foods I am avoiding, especially those forbidden.
But there is one thing I like about this new house, the cozy kitchen.
It's quite spacious and brighter compared to the former one. I gave it a test one afternoon and cooked something yummy for my appetite using the available ingredients at home.
I had some bananas and sweet potatoes at home. I was craving cakes so I cooked one. This is just random cooking, but if you want to give it a try, just follow the simple steps below.
The ingredients are:
- Banana
- Sweet Potatoes
- Corn flour (because we have no other flour)
- Oats
- Cinnamon powder
- Butter
- Brown Sugar
- Baking Soda
For toppings: - Sunflower and Chia Seeds
The first thing I did was to peel and cut the sweet potatoes, then steam them until softened. Since I sliced it too thin, it only took me less than five minutes. The crushing of sweet potatoes and banana was next then combined with the rest of the ingredients. I gradually added water until I reached the desired texture like in the photo below.
Next is to pour the mixture into the steaming pan, but I used a baking pan here because I initially planned to bake it. But then I thought steaming would be faster and will give the cake a softer texture.
This kind of cake is perfect with nuts. However, I have none. I remembered I have some sunflower seeds. I added some on top along with chia seeds and some oats.
Lastly, steam the cake for 20 minutes. I like our new stove. It has a timer and I can just set it and wait until it's done.
After twenty minutes, tada!
Banana-Sweet Potatoes-Corn-Oats-Cinnamon Cake Topped With Sunflower and Chia Seeds. Wooh! That's quite long. Can you give a short name for it? 😅

I was impatient so I cut it even though it wasn't cool yet. It tasted good when eaten hot, anyway. It was my lunch, by the way, 😅.
Here's a new recipe. It is great when paired with a cup of coffee. This time, I tried black coffee and it didn't taste bad at all. And that's the view from our kitchen.
Give it a try if you want. I saved some for the next day because it was my holiday. It tasted even better, albeit a little hard. But if you want a softer one, just cool it down at room temperature. So this recipe is great when chilled in the fridge before eating. Go and try it. You'll like it!
