My journey towards fitness has never been a walk in the park. I've attempted to start for countless times already in the past but due to work and life demands, its always put on hold. The only workout i tried was home workouts during pandemic. But it didn't last long because of the many distractions and excuses I had back then.
Since the start of September this year, I had been planning to take my fitness goals seriously. I try to visit the gym at least 4x a week, usually after work and during weekends (see: Hitting the gym, atleast) to gain muscles and for strength training. The gym is very accessible since it's just across my workplace so I have no more excuses this time.
Aside from the gym, I thought of bettering not just my physical health but also my mental, spiritual, and social being. A friend invited me to a badminton club every Monday at Metro Sports Center, for the longest time. At first, I was hesitant to join because of the inconvenience of going to the sports center. This month, I just started showing up.
Before ending every badminton session, our group always have a team huddle wherein one member volunteers to give some preaching from the bible, followed by a prayer per pair. It's a good practice since it not only improves my physical being (actual playing of badminton), but also spiritual and social being.
Last Monday, my personal intention that i asked was for God to instill leadership skills in me. This is not just for my line of work but also in my day to day tasks. I pray for a heart that isn't afraid to take on responsibilities and courage to not just conform to others.
After the session, I really felt positive energy overflowing in me as it not just energized me physically but I also gained a community of support system. I can't promise to show up every Monday, but I can only try my best. I hope you are all doing well too. Here's to a better Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual being!
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
