Hi Hive Lovers
Everyone must have felt a loss of enthusiasm in carrying out their daily routine, or worse, they must have lost their orientation in life.
If that happens to you, then you should fix it immediately. Your life is yours, and you are responsible for your own life. Your life must have meaning. So what should someone do to make their life meaningful?
Regarding the meaning of life, I remember the principles of Japanese life that were once conveyed by a friend from Japan. That almost all of them have followed these principles, thus giving them a strong reason to live, and that principle of life is one of the reasons Japanese people have the highest life expectancy in the world.
*The Japanese principle of life is called *IKIGAI* (生き甲斐).*
Ikigai is a combination of two words consisting of "Iki", which means life, and "Gai", which means value. It can be interpreted as the meaning of life or one's reason for living.
You have certainly had a cup of hot coffee when you just woke up one beautiful morning, and you really enjoyed it, so much so that it made you live the day with gusto. Sometimes you do various other things that make you excited and happy for your day.
This is a small and simple thing that, without you realizing it, makes you happy when you do it and makes you excited. You don't wake up early for something big to change the world; just enjoy all your routines and do them with all your heart. That's how the Ikigai principle works.
Everyone who applies this *Ikigai *principle will understand their reason for carrying out all their activities, namely to fight for their hopes by doing all the small and simple things, and it will become a big thing in the end. If a person doesn't know what their wish is and doesn't fight for it, then their life will be dull and without value.
However, I can no longer remember the detailed explanation of the elements that make up the Ikigai principle that my friend from Japan has given.
Among these elements that I still remember are passion, mission, vocation, and profession.
All these aspects complement each other. If you only do a few, then it cannot be called the Ikigai Principle. You must be able to find and do all of these elements as a unified whole to be able to find the meaning of these Ikigai Principles and make your life meaningful.
However, there are some suggestions from my Japanese friend that I can still remember well to get the meaning of life according to Ikigai principles, as follows:
1. Start with small things
Everything starts with something small. You wake up in the morning feeling grateful because you can still live for the day, but your gratitude is the smallest thing that will give you positive feelings to start your day. Then you make your bed, and a blanket is also a small thing. If you don't make your bed and fold your own blankets, how can you do anything bigger?
2. Free flowing
You must always think positively of yourself and the way you are. That way, you will always feel positive, carefree, flowing, and free from the burden that is within yourself.
Your good feelings will attract positive values from everyone or everything around you, so you will feel good, which will encourage you to get what you want.
3. Harmony
Everyone has their own characteristics; give value to and respect those differences. Appreciate and respect everyone you meet, and they will appreciate and respect you. Others will treat you the way you treat others.
Mutual appreciation and respect will create harmony in your lives, and with that, there will be a bond that strengthens each other and ignores all the negativity directed at you. Let the negative things disappear by yourself with your neglect.
4. Be present at the place and time where you are
Enjoy the condition and time of your existence now. You have to be present for yourself, and that will produce the quality of your presence. Whatever you are doing, do it with all your heart; that means you appreciate and enjoy your time.
How many people are alone with their life partner, but their thoughts and attention are elsewhere? For example, they are busy with their respective cellphones, even though they are both in the real world, and what is in their cellphones is the virtual world.
5. Happiness starts with small things
A joy comes from yourself; you yourself create it. Learn from the past and ignore worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. Pay attention to the smallest things and go into detail about what you are doing right now; it will produce satisfaction and joy. Do something to the fullest and with all your heart.
You need to put your car keys in the storage area in an orderly and neat manner, and then you can take them back without having to search. If not, then you will spend time looking for it here and there, troubling yourself. You will waste time and lose precious opportunities and happiness.
The 5 things mentioned above have really helped me so far; even you can do them easily in your own way. Then you will find happiness and balance in your life, and you will understand the meaning of your life.
Enjoy the little things in your day and be excited!
