Hello friends, happy Sunday! How are you all? I hope you are all well and having a great time. I am also fine and enjoying life. Today, I am sharing a recipe made from arvi (taro root), which is very delicious. Even those who don't like arvi will learn to enjoy it. So, let's see how to make it. For this recipe, I need the following ingredients.
- 200 grams of arvi (taro root)
- Two onions
- Four green chilies
- Tomatoes
- Red chili powder
- Turmeric powder
- Garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil
I am making this dish for four people. You can adjust the quantities as per your requirement.
Method
- First, wash the arvi with water, peel it, and cut it into round slices.
- Finely chop the onions and green chilies. I have a chopper, so I chopped them in the chopper.
- Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, add the arvi slices and fry them on high heat.
- In the same pan and oil, add the tomatoes cut into two pieces and sauté them. When the skin starts to come off, remove the tomatoes and peel them.
- Add a little more oil to the pan, about a tablespoon. When the oil is hot, add a tempering of fenugreek seeds and carom seeds.
- When these turn brown, add the chopped onions and sauté on low heat for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, grind the tomatoes to make a paste.
- After this, add the tomato paste and mix well. Add the spices: one teaspoon of red chili powder, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Sauté the spices well until the oil separates.
- Now add one cup of water. If you use hot water, the spices' flavor enhances. Add the fried arvi and mix well. Cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes so the arvi absorbs the flavors of the spices.
- Stir well once more. Cover and cook for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
- Garnish with fresh coriander. Your hot arvi curry is ready.Serve it with roti or paratha and enjoy.
