When I started to look over my entire Splinterlands collection I noticed that close to half my collection net worth was in Reward cards. Some where north of 40% of my total. It got me to think how much more I can potentially grow my rewards cards as they earn passive income from renting out.
Chaos Rewards Cards
Current series of reward cards a majority of them are still under 30% printed. This is good sign for players to continue accumulating as the game progresses through the seasons. I remember in past seasons once reward cards were near 90% printed it did not take long to turn into out of print cards.
The yellow line is where reward cards are in print and it continues to rise as the game progresses. When reward cards are all said and done printing there will be more rewards cards in circulation than all of the other series combined together including if we assumed all Chaos packs are sold. Talk about plenty of cards...
Reward Gold Foils?
With the plentiful reward cards in circulation and continue to print daily it got me thinking the potential benefits of purchasing gold foils. Their prices continue to drop and based on current stats from splintercards.com:
An entire gold foil chaos rewards set is a little under $2500. This is a total of 366,500 collection power for a meager $2500. For those who seek to get collection power alone imagine obtaining over a 1million collection points if they patiently stacked rewards gold foils.
Conclusions
I think I will be focusing on gold foil reward cards a bit more now that I realized who low cost the cards are compared to other series. The quantities of reward cards should not detour us from seeking to earn or buy them because down the road once the cards become out of print they will be a lot scarcer. This is the case with previous reward series.
The gold foil prices and collection value really caught me off guards. There is something unique here, really an alpha leak. Those who play the game long enough are aware of its benefits but the fact that stacking those cards specifically can yield large sums of collection power should not be overlooked. 1 million collection points can yield over 100 sps a day in air drop. On top these cards if not played can be easily rented out as they earn players additional DEC bonus for ranked battle wins.
