At the face of rejection, most people stops trying, some give up on their dreams, some get depressed and question their existence while some learn from it, grow stronger from it .
AT some point in our lives, we get to face series of rejection, for both big things and small things. Either your job proposal is been turned down, not been invited to an invent, been turned down for a date, and even a relationship breakup.
I have passed through rejections many times more than i can count in my life which at that time messed with my mental heath, my emotions and my self esteem and i literally gave up. But rejection isn't an excuse for failure right?
But amidst the great storms happening in my life, i realised that the fear of been rejected is even worse than rejection itself, because it stops you from taking risk and higher step that can lead to achieving your goals.
SO, WHAT KEPT ME YOU GOING?
-Firstly, i made peace with the fact that not just me, but nearly everyone passes through rejection in their lives but it didn't stop them and that been rejected isn't an excuse to been a failure forever.
I also learned to stop giving in to negative self thoughts and side talks. Rejection can make one feel shame, and with that, we bother ourselves about what people think and might say, but the truth is that whether or not they something, it doesn't really matter. Bouncing back to trying and putting in more effort should be your utmost priority.
Overthinking didn't really help, it simply pushes you into depression and mental breakdown. But finding new strategies helped a lot.
Also, finding someone to talk to was a good idea. We need people we can trust people who can talk us into positivity when facing life challenges like rejection.
I learned from my rejections. It shouldn't be difficult to turn your rejections into motivation to keep going. Don't give up on your dreams.
Now the big question is,
WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
