It is good to forgive. When we forgive others we help our relationship with others to prosper. Forgiveness builds good neighborhoods. It brings peace. It strengthens friendship. Forgive is the overcoming power which we have over the bad effects of evil.
Mark 11:25-26 (KJV) And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
The person forgiving another has great benefits himself. His spirit will be free of guilt. He will have peace of mind. He will be able to pray and God will answer him. Forgiveness can bring healing. Forgiveness can bring soundness of mind. Forgiveness gives one’s soul a free mind. When we don't forgive others, we are carrying heavy loads in our hearts. It can cause terrible heartache.So when we forgive others, we have good standing spiritually.
The Bible teaches us to forgive. We must forgive if we want God to forgive us. We cannot hold a grudge with others and expect to please God. We must forgive our christianity to be genuine. We must forgive others as the Lord commands. Children of God must forgive.
