PROBLEMS AND HAPPINESS

Hello beautiful people. In Nigerian parlance "problem no the finish" is what I grew up to hear from family, friends and people who take out time to go out there and enjoy their lives!

In a sense, that's true after all because happiness is often misunderstood as the absence of problems or challenges. People look at life and look at people who seem happy and conclude that those people do not have any problems they are dealing with.

However, the truth is that problems are an inherent part of life, and everyone can attest to this; you cannot live through life without encountering something that will trouble you and require you to face it.

There are many examples to support this, even things that do not look like problems at first thought; when you address one issue, such as not spending enough quality time with your partner, by designating a regular "date night," you'll inevitably encounter new challenges. These might include deciding on activities you both enjoy, managing the expenses of frequent dinners, and rekindling the spark in your relationship.

Problems are a continuous aspect of life; they evolve and change, but never truly disappear. Happiness stems from effectively addressing and overcoming these challenges. The crucial aspect is the act of "solving."

Indeed, happiness cannot be achieved without problems, which is quite ironic, but that is the truth of the matter; it seems wrong when you consider it at first until you take a closer look at it and realize all along that you cannot be happy if you have nothing to overcome and achieve, you cannot also be happy if you have everything to overcome and they are not achievable.

Not that the key word there is being able to solve the problem. Happiness resides in the determinable problem-solving capacity of an individual. Happiness is achieved in a state of equilibrium where, on one side, you have no problems to solve, and on the other side, you have every problem you cannot solve. To be happy, you have to be in the middle where you have problems and you can solve them.

Avoiding problems or believing you're problem-free can lead to unhappiness. Similarly, feeling overwhelmed by insurmountable problems can have the same effect.

The key to happiness lies in tackling problems head-on. You don't back down, you must stand tall and decide that you want to overcome the problem you are faced with.

We need challenges to overcome to experience happiness.

This means that happiness is an active process, not a passive state.

It's not something that can be discovered through social media, self-help gurus, or any specific book. Happiness is a continuous work in progress, as solving problems is an ongoing process.

The solutions to today's problems will inevitably give rise to new challenges tomorrow that must also be solved to keep you in a consistent state of happy but not idle.
