The most valuable lesson from minimalism that's applicable forever - and it's not money alone.
WE have been using this natural medicine from quite some time to prevent hair fall and a very close friend was very concerned about his kid's hair loss, the kid being same aged as my son. My friend has already lost his hair and spent a lot to fix some artificial hair, so it's quite possible that, his kid may tend to loose his hair, but not at this age at least. So one fine day, while we were chatting he curiously asked how everyone in my family has good hair and my answer was this natural medicine, prepared by the lady has rescued us. Then he was after me, to prepare and give it for his son. When I told him about the simple ingredients and process of preparation, he requested me to prepare it and give him instead. In return, he would give me anything I ask. So we decided to help him and I procured all the ingredients, and the lady did the fine touch of delegate cooking.
The ingredients are simple : Oil of your choice that you would apply ( we picked coconut oil as that's the one we use), then 7-10 hibiscus flowers, onion, curry leaves, Aloe vera and black cumin. You probably can get a feel of the amount from these visuals.
This Aloe vera plant was over populated in the balcony, so it was a perfect time to take all of them out and replant just one, to grow again. Aloe vera not only brings positive vibes to home, it has lot of medicinal values, which we often use. Your severe headache can go away in minutes, if you apply to your forehead. And sometimes, I drink the Aloe vera juice (with ginger and Cinnamon), to improve digestion. And it's absolutely easy to grow them - just plant and leave it to grow, all they need is watering in few days.
The cooking has to be very delegate at slow heat with continuous stirring, otherwise, the oil will tend to expand with foams and even catch fire. She stood for more than one and half hour, doing the hard part - Help is in our nerves and she always jumps in, even more than me.
After leaving it for more than a hour to cool down, the next task was packaging and I undertook that.
The amount of oil needs to be half the amount, so that is how it should be planned to cook it with these ingredients.
And then the kids jumped in with their measuring cups, funnel to pack it to be shipped. They also are like us - always inspired to help.
So overall, it was a family affair and the good news is that, after applying this oil for couple of weeks, his hair fall has reduced significantly. And interestingly, I was about to throw away all the remaining Aloe vera plants, keeping only few thick stems to drink, but then our kid showed interest to make an Aloe vera gel out of it, so I was all in. It's good to see their interest in these natural medicines, that were the only means few decades back, helping people live a healthy life. I will post about it separately, but curious what we asked in return ? My friend is a nice cook, which I know from our bachelor times, so we asked him to give us chicken curry, and he has promised to give us every Sunday, the first one already delivered 🙂 and kids just loved it.
The monetary value of these things may not be great, but the happiness of helping someone in need is a whole different feelings, that you can only feel, if you do it yourself. And believe me, help will come fro you when you will need it most - happiness is contagious.
