I thought I would test out the new 'post to the community' feature on Dagamers, posting directly to the SlothBuzz community. Tonight, I am also thinking about the future of SlothBuzz.

I've been thinking a lot recently. After having a hiatus from Hive and the internet in general, I was buzzing to be back on Hive and making content again. However, the slothbuzz community still seems to be a sloth at my side, slowing me down and pulling me back. Even when I wasn't actively managing it, it seemed to sloth along, like every other Hive token being dumped down to 0 by those 'farming' it.

I'm not sure if there is a solution to this problem. I can't 'force' people to Hodl the token, we all know leading with the carrot is much more effective than the stick. But, as a relatively small Hive user, I don't have the power to offer massive incentives. I could pretend the Slothbuzz token is one of those low-value things and offer thousands as prizes daily. Is pretending the 'real value' is getting the token at all? We all know that most people prefer to look at things in terms of $ value. With that said, most people dump any and all tokens, especially those with 'some' value, which I've always tried to maintain for Slothbuzz.

Maybe I should have listened long ago when I thought about launching the token and community. I was told it 'wouldn't work'; it's just another spammy hive-engine token that won't amount to anything. I wasn't bringing anything 'new' to the table, so I would follow in the footsteps of the many who had tried before. I guess, looking back, in a way, those criticisms were correct. Over the last couple of years, the majority of our grand schemes for development have fallen to the wayside. Leaving us with basically the same set-up we started the community with 2 years ago. Many users have come and gone through the sloth buzz'ing door, lending some support here and there whilst focusing mainly on their own things.

We currently have some productive steps happening in terms of the slothbuzz tip bot, which could still improve our curation efforts on Hive. However, we could also do this without the slothbuzz token. We could focus on earning Hive and improving our position within the whole chain, or we could take a step back and let everything fade into insignificance completely.

I guess I have a lot of thinking to do, and what better place to hide my thoughts than in a stream post? Does anyone even read these, or are they like Actifit posts that are spammed daily without real love?

Well, that's all for now. I have some more days of thinking to do. I don't even know if I got my point across in this post; in fact, I'm not even sure what point I was trying to make. But it's nice to have an outlet to share some thoughts, however slothlike they are!

Until next time, and there will still definitely be a next time, I'm not hanging up my little sloth boots yet,

Sloth out!

I love sloths!

FYI,
I found your post in the NEW POST section. I have no clue how many people will see it, or if I just happened to click the new post link at the perfect time.

Thanks for stopping by! The 'new post' section (on ecency I'm assuming?) is an awesome feature for finding new content to interact with.

Hive is relatively busy; there's still 'some spam', but for the most part, the content is pretty cool. Make sure to check out communities to find content you'd like to see more of, and of course, don't forget to follow the authors you enjoy!

Happy Hiving! I'm glad you finally found your way over from Steemit, haha! Maybe you're the real !SLOTH here!

Thanks, it's been a long while so I have to get used to how the platform works again. I actually found your post on the main HIVE new post section. I haven't seen ecency yet. Is that one of the dApps? I haven't checked those out yet.

What do you refer to as 'main Hive'. Ecency.com is one of the main browsers for Hive content, along with Peakd, com. Not sure how many users are still using hive-blog, i guess that could be referred to as the main site. There's also a bunch of 'outposts' where you can view content under certain tags, like sloth.buzz for #slothbuzz content, or hiveme.me for #MEME etc

Yes HIVE Blog is what I meant. Thanks for the advice! I'm sure I'll catch on as I start using this more.

a lot of !SLOTH thinking to do indeed...
