The following pictures were taken in June of 2023. These pictures are the originals, they have not been altered in any way. While visiting our daughter in Pennsylvania the smoke from those destructive fires was playing havoc in the northeastern parts of the United States. The following pictures are originals, no adjustments were made to them. With the skies being inundated with smoke from hundreds of miles away, an eerie sky, not of earthly origin, made me realize just how small our world is.
As the sun approached the horizon its color became pink,
streaked by the smoky air.
It seemed to be transforming into a Pacman
gobbling up the pollution
in an effort to save the planet.
Here are a few pictures of the devastation that lasted several months until it was finally contained and we all took a sigh of relief.
