What's up plebs?!
It's been quite a while since I posted one of my silver coins, I guess other things got in the middle. And geez, I have such a big backlog that is only getting bigger.
Eventually I'd like to make a post for each piece I own but I don't see that happening any time soon 🙈😂
Anyways, here's a beauty I got some months ago:
This chicken looks particularly angry 😂
So, this time we have a silver 10 Deutsch mark minted in 2000, commemorating the 10th anniversary since the German reunification.
Fyi, the building depicted is the parliament. Here's a real life photo for comparison:
Unlike other coins we have seen, there's nothing cryptic to explain in this one. Everything is pretty much self explanatory, like denomination, minting date etc 🙈🙈
And as always we get some unique text on the edge:
After translation it reads
WE ARE THE PEOPLE - WE ARE ONE PEOPLE
This was one of the reunification mottos so it fits the theme :)
When it comes to silver this is a generous piece, like all the German commemorative coins minted from 2000 and after.
This means that we get 15.5 g of 0.925 silver. Nice 🙂
All in all, a beautiful coin for one of the most important moments of modern Germany.
Ok, this is it for today. See you soon with more shiny friends :D
