Greetings ASEAN Hivers, I've been feeling a little under the weather this week, so I'd like to see some local traditional cures for the common cold.

πŸ€’ Traditonal Cures For The Common Cold β˜•

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Week #79 πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»

October 9th ➑️ October 16th, 2023

Β  Β  Β Every part of the world has a local traditional cure for the common cold, often ranging from black magic to herbal teas, and everything in between. For this challenge, any cures are fair game as long as they aren't pharmaceuticals like pills or other synthetic medicines. Growing up the middle of USA on a farm, the local cure for a common cold was chicken noodle/dumpling soup, and I've found this to be the case in other parts of the world too.

Β  Β  Β I may or may not have done a challenge with this theme previously, but I honestly can't remember because I'm sick and a little low on sleep. I've been drinking a lot of ginger and lemongrass tea the last few days because I find it gives me some strength when I have a cold. For this challenge you can share recipes, photos of various treatments, even yourself collecting herbs from the garden for a special soup/tea/broth, there are so many possible ways to join. Perhaps you even have a sick person in your house to be the patient πŸ˜‰.

Week #78 ASEAN Hive Challenge Winners
🀳 Black & White Photography πŸ“·

Β  Β  Β There were so many quality entries for this challenge that I was overwhelmed and found it nearly impossible to narrow things down to only three winners. I did however do just that, but I have also sent 50 Ecency points to other notable posts not show below. Black and white photography has a way of highlighting certain features not normally given attention in color photography, and I think you'll find good examples of that in all three of these outstanding posts below.

AseanHive Challenge#78 | Theme: Black and White Photography | Flashback
by: @diosarich

Hello, #HiveWorld, and good day to this fantastic community of #AseanHive. I hope that everyone is in the pink of health. I am a baby boomer, which means that I was born during the age of black-and-white photography and some of these snapshots are originally taken in black and white.😊 Here let me tell you some anecdotes about each photo... πŸ€— Memories from my childhood are kept in a photo album that I cherish. My mom told me that I was just two years old in this photo. Look at my impish chuckle.

ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #78: Black & White Photography
by: @tegoshei

It might sound simple, but I think it's not. Photographs are stories the photographer want to tell people. It's a tool to communicate. Nowadays, we enjoy the beauty of photos by how colorful they are, or by how they are captured. Photos are also memories that people use to reminisce their experiences... their feelings and a lot more. In a world where colors send various messages, I think it's challenging to communicate in just black and white.

Seeing the Light and Shade
by: @lifewithchel

Hello Hive friends! This is my first post to the @asean.hive community and also my entry to the "Black & White Photography" Community Challenge # 78. I have a lot of photos to share but I have chosen photos that reflect some of my thoughts. With this, I hope to continue improving myself as I continue to grow in this creative platform. In this blog, I wish to share some photos of: "black and white moments" in my life, photos of what I wish to keep forever, and photos of what I look forward to in the future--no matter how black and white things may become.

Congratulations Winners!

πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Thanks, dear. πŸ’–

Congrats winners!

Traditional cure for common cold? I have been using oregano for it but I think I already posted about it before here in hive.

πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ Fresh oregano is lovely, I use it when I visit the USA, but I've never seen it fresh here in Cambodia. The dried oregano in jars is just not as fragrant.

Oh if it is possible to bring some oregano to your place and plant it. It is easy to grow it.

Thanks, Sis. Come join the next round of challenges. It would be fun πŸ’–

Assalamu Alaikum I hope you are very well. I wish you a happy life with your family. Curated by someone awesome. I think date is a very beneficial fruit for us. Very useful in cold cough or fever. Also I want to say more about planting in our house. Tulsi leaf juice is very useful for our cold cough fever, Tulsi leaves play an important role. I always prefer Tulsi leaves for cough most of the time. Congratulations to all winners. I wish you all the best. congratulations

Yes, I know tulsi, it is very strong medicine. When my family and I were stranded in Suriname for three years during the pandemic, all the Indian people there grow it for religious purposes, but they never eat it or use it for tea. Because of this we could pick as much as we want for free πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†.

Thanks for stopping by my friend.

Yes you are right my dear friend you are most wellcome

Hi hope I am not too late but here is my entry for #79. https://ecency.com/hive-141359/@poortrader/aseanhive-challenge-79-or-traditional

You still have ample time bro. Good luck. πŸ’ž

Not too late at all my friend.

What a lovely entry, you eat such wonderful foods. Food is life, and it also means so much to me to eat fresh and wholesome foods to get well and stay well.

Thanks a lot, @justinparke πŸ’– It's so kind of you to always support all of us with our articles. I for one am so inspired and grateful for your unwavering support. πŸ’–
