Tough week.. amusing stories.

Pleasant greetings everyone. Trust you all are doing fine. Glad to have you here in my space.

My week was not fun filled but work filled. The promotional examinations started and kicked in with full force. I and my colleagues were nose deep with scripts to mark, so that we can give the students their report cards next week.

Hmm, to top it all, the power holding company in charge of generating and distributing electric power supply did not do their duty as for the whole of this week, there has not been electric ppwer supply and that is quite frustrating.

This brings me to the story I want to share. I came across this post in question while surfing through twitter and it got me amused. I was so amused that I took a screenshot and thought of sharing it on my WhatsApp status, to get people's comments on the matter.

The post reads 4 days without power supply, Houston calls it a crisis. Now I wish my people could do the same thing. I wish we could all rise with one mind, heart and voice to place our demands on the government... but that might never happen.

I admire how the people of Houston came out to speak of their predicanebts, even calling four days without electric power supply a crisis. I'm sure the government over there is doing all they can to get the situation under control I (haven't followed up the news lately).

What got me amused was when I thought of how long we have had to stay without electric power supply in my city. Sometimes, it can last for half a year or even worse a whole year. People make do with solar panels, inverters and fuel powered generators to have power supply for their homes, offices and businesses.

It is not always easy to make use of power supply like this because it consumes a lot of finances and this leads to hike in prices of foodstuff and other things in the country.

The other funny story I want to share that popped up this week is about the ongoing labour strike that has been on for a while now in my country. Finally, the government has agreed to a minimum wage of #70,000 for workers but they went ahead to get a private jet worth billions. I don't know what sucks....is it the fact that they allowed the strike to go on for so long or the fact that the labour leaders settled for #70k rather than #250, 000 they demanded for earlier.

Well, despite the hectic week and the loads of work I have to get completed in the nick of time, I was amused by these two stories that I came across online.

Thank you all for reading. This is my entry to the #julyinleo prompt for day 19.

That's life of a teacher for you dear. We must survive

Abi oooo.

Thank you so much👍

That can only happen in Houston not in my motherland🤣🤣🤣

Is it motherland or fatherland now 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just 4 days without light is a crisis? 😂😂

Yes o, in Houston o. Not in my motherland.

The first story got me laughing and imagining our own dear country. Houston saying 4 days without power supply is a crisis, let them come to Nigeria and see how it is more than war here sef 😄😄 we are already used to it due to the availability of solar panels, generator for those who can afford it.

I laughed hard too but they have a good government that would have sorted out the issue by now, unlike our motherland or is it fatherland self.

Thanks sis

Nigeria has made us confused oo. Motherland or fatherland. Which is which? 😀

Lol, I don't know o

This people don't know what crisis is, there are places in Nigeria that has no seen light for months now, what those people now say.

About the minimum wage I pray they implement it. Approving is on one, implementing it is another thing

The minimum wage is too poor to celebrate o, whether they implement it or not. It favours government workers not private workers.

Thanks for sharing your comment

It's well with our nation. Happy Sunday 😊
