Over the course of last year, the FreeCompliments Community has created several consistent jobs that pay out in HSBI. We’ve kept a payroll that has helped with the productivity and growth of the community. Here, I present 2 important open positions!
Using the HSBI (Hive Stake-Based Income) model to pay employees allows them to receive permanent income as long as they keep creating posts. This means that even if they work for only a month or so, they’ll have a lifetime income, in the form of votes, as a result of the HSBI Units they receive, provided they keep posting to Hive.
As it turns out, the person who received these job positions was previously an active member on Hive and in the FreeCompliments Community (including in the Nominator position), but within a day or two after applying for one of the new jobs, left Hive. He came back one time on Discord promising to return within a few weeks, but never did. Thus, the new job positions was effectively never filled, and one has been unfulfilled for a while. Here are the positions:
The Open Job Positions
Back-Up for Community Curation + Rewards Management
In case the primary individual is out sick or unable to do their duties for some reason, the back-up will temporarily take over the following primary position duties (the following is a description of the primary position, which is already filled by @yecier):
The primary job position is a combination of two titles which tie in very closely with each other: Community Curation + Rewards Management.
In this position, you’d do the following tasks:
- Curate all posts made directly within the FreeCompliments Community. There is a target percentage range which you’ll adapt over time.
- Determine rewards for every post in terms of HSBI and Ecency promotions.
- Write out daily posts for @fc-curation and @fc-rewards. The @fc-curation account lists all posts that have been curated, and the @fc-rewards account lists the rewards for those posts in terms of HSBI and Ecency promotion.
- Sending out HSBI and promoting posts according to the determined rewards.
- In order to encourage posters, intermittently sending out token commands such as !LOLZ, !BBH, and !LUV to the posts you appreciate most.
In situations that a day off is needed, it is ok to take it off and create 2 posts the following day; however, this should not be routine. Keep in mind that posting daily increases the rewards received for each post, and thus the beneficiary awards are also higher as a result.
Nominator
This job is intended to be done by two people, each with their own position and pay. The position is called “Nominator.” Each of you will contribute nominations for our Post of the Month, Compliment of the Month, and Non-Compliment Comment of the Month. These will be posted using the @fc-nominations account using a premade template on an approximately weekly basis.
Thus, we will have an average of approximately 4 nominations per category per person, for a total of 8 nominations per category per month. This is a total of 8 nominated posts, 8 nominated compliments, and 8 nominated non-compliment comments, split evenly amongst each nominator.
This will involve going through the posts and comments and choosing your favorites. The criteria will be up to you, although I encourage nominations to be for content that is unique, creative, full of effort, and/or highly personal. The content should be original, but augmentation with AI is OK (if used, for instance, to help with grammar, spelling, etc.).
When sending the nominations, ensure that you don’t choose the same post; this means that the two nominators would have to communicate with each other to ensure that the overlap does not occur. The nominations will be reported to each other via Discord and via Hive itself.
Preference will be given to applicants who have been active within and members of the community longer.
One of our Nominators, @mviews, will assist / train you in the process of creating these posts during the first month. Since this is extra out-of-title work, he will be paid extra HSBI for doing so.
The payment offers
The back-up position will pay as follows: 5 HSBI per month to remain on back-up; if called to cover, the pay schemata will be identical to the primary payment, prorated for how much time is spent covering. For example, if called in to cover for 2 days during a 30 day month, you will receive 2 days’ worth of payment, rounded up (65 HSBI x 2/30, rounded up = 5 HSBI, plus 3000 CCD x 2/30 = 200 CCD, plus 10% beneficiary rewards).
As the primary position’s payment will increase over time, the secondary / back-up position would be eligible for the same increases when active. Additionally, as per our recent update, the backup will receive an additional 1 HSBI per month raise after any instance in which they are activated.
The Nominator position will earn 10 HSBI per month. This position will also be eligible for monthly pay increases as outlined in this post.
Continuing to build Hive’s economy by adding different types of jobs
The additional creation of jobs with various structures permits the expanding use case of Hive as a payment for services, in line with Hive’s function as a medium of exchange. Creating multiple types of jobs using a similar payment system provides an initial basis for what can be considered a fair payment, thus establishing Hive as a unit of account. The more jobs are created with Hive, the more we will validate its practical value. Once this happens, we will more readily be able to establish a consistent value of assets in terms of Hive, since it will be attached to work requirements; this will establish Hive’s store of value. Combining all of these factors will turn Hive into functional money.
An economy must be built upon functional money. This is why we must take steps to ensure that Hive can, indeed, function as intended. Let’s continue creating different types of jobs and establish Hive’s practical value with practical use cases.
Conclusion
In order to help the FreeCompliments and help continue the validation of Hive and HBD as valid forms of money, this is a dual job posting using HSBI with a unique structure of payment. Let’s continue building both the community and bringing value to the Hive economy.
What do you think of this job posting? Is the payment offer fair, and are there other positions that you think would help support this community’s growth?
