Over the course of last year, the FreeCompliments Community has created a few consistent jobs that pay out in HSBI. We’ve kept a payroll that has helped with the productivity and growth of the community. Now, I introduce 2 job positions!
Using the HSBI (Hive Stake-Based Income) model to pay employees allows them to receive permanent income as long as they keep creating posts. This means that even if they work for only a month or so, they’ll have a lifetime income, in the form of votes, as a result of the HSBI Units they receive, provided they keep posting to Hive.
This job position came rather unexpectedly. Our usual curator / rewarder disappeared without a trace approximately one and a half weeks. I hope that he is ok, and I’ve taken over his duties in the meantime; however, in order to continue to effectively push the community forward, this is a job that I must delegate.
The Job Positions
Primary Job Position - Community Curation + Rewards Management
The primary job position will be a combination of two titles which tie in very closely with each other: Community Curation + Rewards Management.
In this position, you’d do the following tasks:
- Curate all posts made directly within the FreeCompliments Community. There is a target percentage range which you’ll adapt over time.
- Determine rewards for every post in terms of HSBI and Ecency promotions.
- Write out daily posts for @fc-curation and @fc-rewards. The @fc-curation account lists all posts that have been curated, and the @fc-rewards account lists the rewards for those posts in terms of HSBI and Ecency promotion.
- Sending out HSBI and promoting posts according to the determined rewards.
- In order to encourage posters, intermittently sending out token commands such as !LOLZ, !BBH, and !LUV to the posts you appreciate most.
In situations that a day off is needed, it is ok to take it off and create 2 posts the following day; however, this should not be routine. Keep in mind that posting daily increases the rewards received for each post, and thus the beneficiary awards are also higher as a result.
Secondary Job Position – Back-Up for Community Curation + Rewards Management
The secondary job position will be a back-up position. In case the primary individual is out sick or unable to do their duties for some reason, the back-up will temporarily take over these duties.
The payment offer
I’d like to first note that due to the importance of this position, it is the highest paying one which we offer. Each of the duties listed above pays a certain amount of HSBI, and I will pull forward the prior payments that were being sent out, and update them in view of the recent changes to the tokens we use in our reward system.
The primary position will pay as follows: 13 HSBI for post curation, 10 HSBI for token command curation, 12 HSBI + 1500 CCD apiece + 10% beneficiary rewards for creating posts for fc-curation and fc-rewards, 18 HSBI for sending out rewards, per month. This comes out to a grand total of 65 HSBI + 3000 CCD per month.
The secondary / back-up position will pay as follows: 5 HSBI per month to remain on back-up; if called to cover, the pay schemata will be identical to the primary payment, prorated for how much time is spent covering. For example, if called in to cover for 2 days during a 30 day month, you will receive 2 days’ worth of payment, rounded up (65 HSBI x 2/30, rounded up = 5 HSBI, plus 3000 CCD x 2/30 = 200 CCD, plus 10% beneficiary rewards).
The primary position’s payment will have opportunities for increasing pay as we experience more activity over time. As a result, the secondary / back-up position would be eligible for the same increases.
Continuing to build Hive’s economy by adding different types of jobs
The additional creation of jobs with various structures permits the expanding use case of Hive as a payment for services, in line with Hive’s function as a medium of exchange. Creating multiple types of jobs using a similar payment system provides an initial basis for what can be considered a fair payment, thus establishing Hive as a unit of account. The more jobs are created with Hive, the more we will validate its practical value. Once this happens, we will more readily be able to establish a consistent value of assets in terms of Hive, since it will be attached to work requirements; this will establish Hive’s store of value. Combining all of these factors will turn Hive into functional money.
An economy must be built upon functional money. This is why we must take steps to ensure that Hive can, indeed, function as intended. Let’s continue creating different types of jobs and establish Hive’s practical value with practical use cases.
Conclusion
In order to help the FreeCompliments and help continue the validation of Hive and HBD as valid forms of money, this is a dual job posting using HSBI with a unique structure of payment. Let’s continue building both the community and bringing value to the Hive economy.
What do you think of this job posting? Is the payment offer fair, and are there other positions that you think would help support this community’s growth?
I would love to hear any and all opinions about these topics from everyone who is currently a member of FreeCompliments, since you’re all inaugural members! Anyone else who finds this page is also very welcome to voice their opinion. We’re all about free speech, and everyone’s experience has value.
