As the FreeCompliments community accounts grow bigger, our unused resource credits also grow in size. Of course, as most Hivers are aware, resource credits are required in order to perform virtually any transaction on the chain, including posts, comments, votes, and 2nd layer exchanges. New users have limited resources, and thus pops up an idea!
Delegating Resource Credits to New Users
Indeed, we plan to temporarily lend some of our resource credits to new users who join the FreeCompliments Community.
Of course, this is not a novel idea. However, the benefit of a well-supported community account is that it can grow resource credits very quickly, and thus give them out as well in order to help get new users started. Since this community encourages activity and interactions, a new user who actively participates for a few weeks will be able to independently continue using their own account in the blink of an eye.
We already identified one new user who expressed an interest in promoting mental health. She also joined the FC Community; thus, the decision was made to delegate some resource credits to help jump-start her account. We do hope that she’ll end up joining our Mental Health Initiative during her Hive journey.
In the near future, we’re going to open up a delegation system, wherein people will get various rewards for delegating to the FC community’s curation account. The more delegations we receive, the more resource credits we’ll have. With more resource credits, we’ll be able to immediately support new users and have them become active in the community and on Hive.
While the delegation system is not yet ready (I’m still in the process of doing calculations), this will serve as an excellent use case for delegating Hive Power to FC. Delegators thus will be indirectly supporting new users while directly receiving rewards for their delegations. It’s truly a win-win situation!
Conclusion
We’re going to use Resource Credits to help out new users!
What do you think of our idea to use Resource Credits to help out new users? Is this a good incentive for encouraging delegations to our community account?
I would love to hear any and all opinions about these topics from everyone who is currently a member of FreeCompliments, since you’re all inaugural members! Anyone else who finds this page is also very welcome to voice their opinion. We’re all about free speech, and everyone’s experience has value.
