My 5 cents.

For tea we have obtained special ceramic containers in Chinese style, their low height and wide neck are perfectly designed for in/out operations (not to mention the fact they are stylish - taking tea from them is very pleasant!). But coffee is another deal.

In our household we use this old Nescafe glass jar from 90-es, probably due to our love to old things. Dont get me wrong - we are not in love with Nescafe (nor the brand, neither the fact it is a huge transnational monster, like Amazon; I personally avoid to buy anything from such sellers and dont support their growth as a customer). But 90-es was a harsh period of life when ex-USSR citizens simply tried to survive and used all we could. This jar is kinda a silent witness of an epoch... the first touch to “luxurious” consumer life of the rich West / Europe, lol.

This jar is old and pretty much weared-out, you can see the decorative plastic film is teared up at various spots and peels off, but we simply don’t notice it - our eyes are used to it. And my hands also got used to finding this jar always in the same place, on the shelf next to the coffee grinder. Also, note the jar is flat and takes up little room; available room is rather a deficite at our house, haha.

We obtain coffee beans in economic 1-kg packs, and dont take too much experiments with different sorts of coffee. Well, sometimes we buy this and that too,-- but we know what we like, and most of the time obtain exactly the same packages. I have a _big_ cardboard box under the table to keep these packages, and when the jar became empty I simply refill it from the current open package. As simple as that!

PS. forgot to mention -- dont have any special jar for ground beans at all, lol 😛

Your coffee container is a reminder of the nineties.... well, you reminded me of them too because when the USSR disintegrated it was hard for us too, seriously the nineties were hard.
I really liked your glass jar, it is very comfortable to keep the coffee in.

My pleasure! I am a 90-es kid, yeah. 😌 ¡Viva las cosas sencillas y cómodas!

Let me treat you with Hive !PIZZA 😘

Спасибо

😄😄😄 😉

The tea packaging is beautiful and reflects its oriental origin. On the other hand, I think the attachment to old objects is a very traditional custom...I also love old things...they make me nostalgic, @qwerrie

Also its a personal act of anti-consumerizm, which is an evil way actually... leading humankind to deadend, nowhere ☹️
Chinese have the most developed tea culture (which is no surprise). So, if your obsession goes deeper into that - you inevitably will be shopping at Chinese (web) tea stores and enjoy all their achievements, hehe. Lets celebrate it with one of the things Chinese did not have 😁😁😁 (as tomatoes arrived from America) - !PIZZA 🍕 🍕 🍕

At home we drink infusions when we are afraid of complaints.
We drink coffee all the time.

These are gorgeous canisters that look fit for purpose. Also, recycling is a brilliant idea.
Great collection 🙌

Grazie! My pleasure to share something cool looking and inducing a pleasant conversation. 🙏 You may always count me in, when it comes to old things, haha. 😂

count me in, when it comes to old things

I hope that you never have to part ways with them :)))

.... and in a few more decades I will be buried beneath the pile.... ))))))
I see this tendency pretty clear!

I love your tea jars. So beautiful!

This jar is kinda a silent witness of an epoch...

This got me.

This Nescafe jar is a nice little guy; he's seen stuff. You couldn't fire him when there are so many coffee beans to be stored, and continually...

Take the case of this angry cow pot in our kitchen: it has seen some difficult times, so we keep it even though we're not crazy about it; it lacks the interest of your Nescafe jar. I thought I could store my coffee beans there, but as you can see, there's not enough room.

image.png

O-ooo! yes, indeed Capacity is over cause there are too many open packages xD

he's seen stuff. You couldn't fire him when there are so many coffee beans to be stored,

Well and elegantly said. I simply cant fire him cause we been together thru all that, I like it. Thank you. Meow!

Hive !PIZZA, by the end of a day. 🐈🐈🐈 Or for the morning coffee!

We like having options. No specialty coffee here, though. Our friends know we love coffee, so we may get some as a gift from time to time.

A slice of pizza with my morning coffee sounds good. Thank you!

ppps. my wife's packages with spices sitting on a kitchen shelf look the same way! we also use clothespins :) but in addition, we also implement a dozen special clamps, they are very convenient... and basically all are taken - they clamp various open bags and tea samples :)))

Lets see if I have some yesterday's !PIZZA leftovers 🍕 🐈🐈

Oh, I'm using everything I can to keep our food safe from bugs. Too many open packages in my cupboard, in the fridge, and in the backyard: human food, animal food, and more 😁

Leftovers are the best! Thank you!

I love the looks of this old Nescafé jar. So rustic! It really can tell stories as you just look at it. I remember this kind of jars back in the days in my parents’ apartment, maybe in the mid 90s. This was a time that you really couldn’t buy a coffee, that was different from the two or three varieties that were all around in the shops. Nescafé was definitely quite an innovative product! 😆

Yes, exactly so. Why throw away old stuff that can tell stories? it is a part of history thats how I look at it. "Now they do not make it like back in old days anymore" (c) Today stuff became more and more disposable, from year to year... 😍 Only !PIZZA stay the same, as good as it was before. And even better!

Pizza, at the restaurants here in Bulgaria is awful… thank god that I cook really good pizza in our pizza oven… 🤷🏻 😁

My condolences! my humble guess it is the natural result of a negative pricing competition dumping. Here in my city (which is big and tourist-friendly and lets face it full of money in some way...) we managed to discover two brands that still struggle to this sorrowful tendency - they dont shift their prices to the bottom, but compete with others with a decent quality = i.e. their pizza is still nice. 😳

My favourite canisters would be something durable, quirky and eye-catching, that seals coffee 100% effectively.

plastic cannisters.jpg

However, due to the nature of my present living space on a narrowboat, I have gone for these practical plastic containers. The reason is that, oftentimes the boat gets rocked and items fall off shelves.

If I'm honest though, I'd love to replace them with nicer ones, but it's just not a priority right now:)

Greetings...
Without a doubt they are the best to preserve the properties of coffee. I also use a similar one...
Happy Saturday, @millycf1976

separador de cafe.png

Yeah, they are fit-for-purpose 😁
Have a lovely Saturday too:)))

Unquestionably...

:)

I was today years old when I figured out what coffee canisters were xD

Those look really practical, though. I have a ceramic one and am always always worried it will fall and shatter, so at least you don't need to worry about that.

I was today years old when I figured out what coffee canisters were xD

😆

Yeah, like today, where I'm moored, my boat sways dramatically every time another boater passes by. People do not slow down and tick over as they are supposed to. If I had glass ones they would have shattered a long time ago.

Plastic is more superior when it comes to high humidity conditions, like a life on the water etc. Right? When we obtained some gear for travelling, we got some plastic plates and cups and still keep them. In travelling conditions they are much more practical than glass / ceramic ones.

Plastic canisters are only good because it can't break. That's the number one deciding factor for me now.
There's little to no storage available, so if these fall off the shelf, then it's no problem :)

ps. this is totally out of this conversation, but...
in case you are curiuos? yesterday I've read about one of the three greatest nuclear disasters in USSR; an explosion at the soviet nuclear submarine in Chazhma Bay (near Vladivostok) in 1985 occurred during a planned upgrade and repair works of its nuclear reactor. You have the right to laugh at this, yes... Everything was going smoothly, but during this operation (I’ll simplify the plot a little) a high-speed boat sailed along the bay, and the wave from its passage slightly rocked the submarine at that very short moment when the technicians were doing a certain operation, installing the rods... it could not tolerate even a minimal deviation - but due to the shock, the moderating rods were slightly bent, and due to that technicians could not put them in place, and due to that the reactor quickly overheated -> following the nuclear explosion. Everything was kept top-secret, this is actually a very tragic story. This is what sometimes happens when another ship passes you on the water. 😳

Oh, no! That's sad to hear.
Where I'm moored right now, I get slammed about every time a boat goes by because they are not slowing down and going at tick over as they should. It can be annoying.

ps. at least... when you are slammed every next time remember about said nuclear disaster, and in comparison -- you will feel yourself, er... less annoyed!

Yes, I understand that. Annoying to the degree you can not get used to it, right?.. it is not like some sound or a color which at some point became a slight background. This slamming is another deal... let me send you a little consolative !BEER 🐈

This banging is the worst it has ever been. I'll only be here for a few more days before moving on though.

Thanks for the beer:)))

Hey @millycf1976, here is a little bit of BEER from @qwerrie for you. Enjoy it!

Learn how to earn FREE BEER each day by staking your BEER.

Given your current reality, the option of plastic cans seems excellent to me!

I find living on a boat very exciting, although I don't know if I would do it, I'm very afraid of water!

Greetings!

Thank you 😊

Hehe! I don't think you are as afraid of water as I am, but that forces me to be extra careful when I'm exposed to the water:)

However, I think being close to nature outweighs my fear of the water though, as it's a complete package. I cannot think of a more pleasurable way to live and see stunning countryside all year round, regardless of the season.😍

Well, yes, being close to nature is great!

However, I assure you that I am very afraid of water, once when I was young I was drowning, I didn't drown because they pulled me out by my hair, but I was almost dead, I think that left me traumatized, I can't imagine for a moment having to stay on a boat for more than a while!

Oh, no! That sounds like it was a scary ordeal that would leave anyone traumatised. I do hope that you will be able to help yourself in case of an emergency. 🤗💞

It was quite scary indeed!

I hope I never have to go through something like that again!

durable? quirky? eye-catching? <- those containers do not match any of this criteria, me thinks!
but they are easy to access and take minimum of efforts to use (i.e. open/close operations). Ideal size for little storage of ground beans, too. MINIMALIZM, I would say.

Yes, that's what the comment says; I have those plastic ones for practicality on the boat, but my ideal ones would be durable, quirky and eye-catching:)

Will we live thru to that day and still be at the Hive, when you could show us the new ones? heh. 🙏

ps. mine is 'original and unique', maybe it matches the 'eye-catching' criteria.

Plastic jars are very practical for spaces where things are not safe. I can imagine you buying ceramic jars all the time, it wouldn't be very good for security in your space.😬

I leave you a delicious cup of coffee for this day.☕

untitled.gif

No, the only way I'd buy ceramic jars is if I could glue them on a shelf. That would require me to have the shelves at an ideal height for easy access and refilling convenience.

Many things depend on others, so practicality is better. The important thing is to continue enjoying a delicious cup of coffee at any time.

Happy Saturday!

Hello, @rinconpoetico7
Plastic is something that is very easily available and most close tightly. Glass would be ideal, but you would need to have a rubber band that closes the container completely.

Greetings friend.

In truth, with glass jars it is more complicated to store coffee. Plastic is better and without so many complications, in my house we have coffee in a plastic container and it has been around for many years with us.🤭

A wonderful Sunday with lots of coffee.☕

You live on a boat, wow! Or did I misunderstand 🙈 the truth is that if you live at the mercy of the sea 🌊 it better have the vital features waterproof, practical, airtight 😅 to shelter and store your coffee or tea ☕.

Yes, I live on the canals in the UK on a narrowboat and I'm continuously cruising 😍

How free... I love it I would be happy if I could visit you and have a cup of coffee ☕ on that beautiful boat 🙂 wonderful.

Hehe, that would be awesome. Right now, I have a family of swans knocking on the boat for food. They are persistent and will not go away until I feed them. It's fun to see them come by.😍

It's wonderful 😊

Yes, indeed 😁

Oh, swans! Beautiful creatures, and more when they have already eaten 😂 It reminds me of pelicans waiting for fish at the river mouth here in my town.

What a beautiful place. The water and...the swan, it looks like a swan...give the feeling of peace. It would be an ideal environment to have a coffee in the solitude and peace of the flowing water, @millycf1976.
Where is?

Yes, it's a wonderful way to live. I get to see how observant and alert swans are, and how protective the parents are of the baby cygnets. They are beautiful elegant creatures, but it is advisable not to get too close as some of them can be aggressive.
This location is in the Southeast of the UK. However, I'm a continuous cruiser (along 2000 miles of English waterways), constantly moving to different locations. I have a new 'backyard' every few days, and sometimes daily. 😍

Wow...it's a very dynamic lifestyle. the tight metaphor "life is a journey", @millycf1976

"Life is a journey"

🙌

Indeed!😁

Going plastic is maybe the best possible option in your case, on the narrow boat. I would be very pissed if I had to buy new canisters all the time… 🤯

Maybe some stainless steel ones would also be suitable for your case.

And all that precious coffee, lost!

I think that with these your coffee will be safe from getting lost, if you get a little creative you could decorate it and it would be great 👍🏽

I find them practical and the best thing is that they are transparent so you keep an eye on how much coffee you have left.

You could get those washable stickers that say coffee and have coffee beans to decorate the whole surface, and so you give a personal touch to your containers 😊☕💜...

They are transparent so you keep an eye on how much coffee you have left.

Exactly!

coffee beans to decorate the whole surface

Hmmm, you're onto a brilliant idea there!😍🤗

We are DIY baby girls! We make everything easy, cheap and with our hands 🤭☕💜.

DIY is always the best way. It's great for our minds and we create unique thing:)))

I think they are still good since the seals are still tight, but if you fill like charging them is not a wrong idea.

Did you say you leave in a narrow boat?

something durable, quirky and eye-catching, that seals coffee 100% effectively...

No one can deny the versatility and practicality of plastic for so many things. I once kept my coffee in a reused plastic Toddy container, but I've evolved 😂 Wood is charming and durable; these "matrioshka pots" are kind of forgotten at home; they are durable, but not practical except for storing tea bags, as they don't seal tightly.

image.png

I love these.
My husband and I are collectors of wooden boxes, so I know that he'd dig this set.
Now that I see it, it's like déjà vu. I've had so many things over the years, that sometimes I see something that jogs my memory 😍

I know the feeling of that déjà vu 👌
BTW, wooden boxes can make a nice collection. I love them.

Yeah, we have some wooden boxes in storage, with no place on the boat to place them.
He found somewhere to place these two that he brought back from Zanibar:)

Beautiful! They look like little treasure chests. My first thought was of pirates, hehe. You need matching locks and keys.

Hello, @millycf1976!
Hello, Coffee lovers!
I hope this Saturday goes very, very well and you can rest. Don't do like me, I'm working (but I'm escaping to have coffee and chat!😆).
So, these are my two coffee containers. The larger and more transparent one is kept in the cupboard, in the dark, although it is the prettier and more elegant one. By the way, it's time to refill it and I'm on that adventure because I want to try other brands. The small one is the one we always have on the counter, always at hand. There we put the consumption every two days or so.
That white container has been with me for about five years. I brought it from a friend's house because she was going to throw it away and I thought it was ideal for storing coffee in small portions to prevent it from oxidizing as much as possible.
I often buy freshly ground coffee, so this system has worked for me!
I'm going to get my cup!
🏃‍♀

Hmmm, this is interesting because you have two different types and saying that the clear glass one is kept in a dark place caught my attention. Is that to preserve it?
Also, it is great of you to join the conversation and, better yet, to officially be the first commenter:)))

🌼☕️🌼

They are practical reasons, in the end, like your decision to have plastic containers, because your domestic space does not support another solution that is more to your liking.
The large jar in my photo was bought by my daughter, and I find it beautiful and I love that I can store a whole kilo of coffee at once, but I have read that coffee must be preserved from light to avoid degrading its quality, so I keep it at the bottom of the cupboard.
The small jar is handy and takes up little space on my kitchen table. It closes very well and preserves the aroma and protects from light. It is a recycling action, I like that. Point against: it is plastic.

I love that I can store a whole kilo of coffee at once

Yes, that's an important factor because it's great when you can empty an entire packet in the container at once.

preserved from light to avoid degrading its quality

I know this to be true for other things such as natural oils, so I would not be surprised if it's the coffee case too. It sounds like a legitimate point.

Your daughter has good taste 😍

There is magic when you can combine practicality with the beauty.💗
My daughter is a designer and she knows these things, has very good taste and loves kitchen implements. She loves mugs...she also sees colors so specific that they are a topic of dissertation for my sleepless nights! 😁

All that you've said here is beautiful and magical in so many ways 😍

Gracias! 🌺

You're very welcome:)

Ah my mom has one like that (the large transparent one) @adncabrera. They remind me of home <3 and they're super practical. The white one seems practical too!
Gotta say, I completely relate with your struggle.I just get this super antsy feeling when the canister's empty.

Hahaha... Anxiety is the right word. The little one is ready to be filled again.
I usually buy coffee at a small store in the local market. It is freshly ground coffee and not always of the same quality, as it is not very standardized. Apart from that, I consume some commercial brands, almost always the same, but I must confess that having joined this community my appetite for adventure has been whetted, so I have started to look for a good coffee for every day, but different from the ones I usually buy. Thus, my container has been emptying!!!!

not always of the same quality, as it is not very standardized

that is another side of this coin - handy production, I guess. to me it is a plus, a sign of analog rather than digital production. (Well, to some extension...) I prefer to support and vote for human hands rather then robotized production - even tho it means 'less stable standard'.

Thank you for stopping to consider my argument, appreciated @qwerrie.
I agree. Human labor is valuable and we must take great care of it in an era in which everything tends to be standardized, mechanized, globalized, etc. However, coffee picked, roasted, ground and packaged by human hands can also offer standardization in its quality. What about coffee production in my local environment? Many producers have become careless with what they offer to the local market. Coffee in my country is expensive for the bulk of the population, which is very poor. Half a kilo of a good industrial coffee, produced in the country, can cost more than four dollars, and a coffee produced by artisans can cost three and less than three dollars. Paradoxical, isn't it? Because that artisan coffee should be more expensive. That is part of the economic distortion of our country. But the point is that, because of this, the coffee produced in this way has become in many cases an unpalatable coffee because, although where I buy it they usually take care of their product, from time to time I have bought coffee that is simply burnt, or that is so bad that they have added sugar to it.
When you stop very early for work and you aspire to wake up with your first cup of coffee sometimes you don't want those surprises.

Disproportions, that is. A humble label.
Here 1kg of coffee costs 11-16 USD at least.
Lesser packs and more 'branded' ones cost much more.
I'd be happy to obtain artisans-created coffee; one can assume that there would be some rivalry and competition between locals ... as usual - some would proved cheaper prices, some would aim at a better product... Heh. There is opinion that capitalism is evil -- but mankind havent invented anything better, at least that is the perspective we see from today.
Have a nice day, and coffee, with or without !PIZZA ☘️

I am of the same opinion, and I would only add some social counterweights. That discussion could be a long one. Just so as not to leave this little dialogue without feeling that I have failed to say something very important: I believe that my country has not known how to deal with its wealth (and has often been hindered, and not always from the great economic orbits of capitalism). Good coffee and excellent cocoa have been grown here since the 19th century. I would like to see by now many people producing based on these products. Prosperity of the production that is reverted in education and social welfare. I see a lot of poverty instead.
The good news is that there are many entrepreneurs doing interesting things.
Have a very happy Sunday, @qwerrie. It has been very nice and interesting chatting with you! Thanks for the pizza!

Greetings friend!

I think it's great that you have two boats, it's a great idea!

I also think it's excellent to try new options and new brands, you never know what we're going to find, hehehe.

Happy afternoon!

Hi, @yessi08.
You have to venture. It's the salt of life, or the coffee on the table! hehe....
Good afternoon and happy Saturday!

That's right my friend, adventures are part of life!

5yrs ! I love it when people keep things clean and safe no matter how long they have those things, I love you for that.

Oh, thank you, @beauty197!
I like to recycle. I consider it an important part of my life.
Receive a big hug from my place.

Yes recycling is part of keeping the planet clean, even our creator will be happy with you

Is this jar has a 'darken' glass, or its just my imagination?..
I am in love with such sort of glass (and mirrors), - I behave myself like a moth to a candle when I see a jar made of such 'darkened' slightly shiny amalgamated glass... especially if it has hexagonal shape. This is some kind of fetish for me, I don’t know why.
☘️ Well, anyway. Minimalistic and enjoyable jar you have!

Both jars do the job; the one on the right is less pretty but more effective because it protects the content against the light. I like keeping coffee in small portions, too, but when we're expecting guests, I ground what we will use during the day as soon as I wake up, just in case we have a power outage.

I guarantee that your coffee is freshly ground. Fortunately, I have had the pleasure of tasting your delicious preparations.
Hugs!

I already have my mug in my hand! Thanks for stopping by to read my comment. Have the best of Sundays and always a very good coffee!

I really like the quality of preservation that glass containers give to coffee.... Good thing you've had this one for so long. 😊☕☕ Cheers!

Thansk, @chacald.dcymt ! Iagree!. The glass container is very dear to me, as it is a gift from my daughter. The other one is also dear to me, even though it is more humble, because it was rescued for reuse a long time ago.

Hello, hello, very good morning, happy Saturday. Very cloudy and rainy here.

I found this gorgeous little thing last year in Sicily. I was right in the middle of moving house, and couldn't resist this beauty. Transporting it in my hand luggage was a nightmare and it's a constant concern for someone as clumsy as I, but all in all, I love it.

Is very pretty. It looks like the ceramic that my mother made a while ago, even the painting has that manual touch that makes it have an artisanal feel.
I like it...@honeydue.

I love your coffee container. It is really nice. Handwork has a warmth to it that always makes experiences intimate, even one as everyday as storing coffee. I love the ochres and blues in the ornamentation with the Spanish pottery's classical motifs. A beautiful handwork.

Oh, wow! That's beautiful. I love one-off pieces like this. The colours and design are great, and the handles are unique. Gosh, I understand why you are constantly worried that you might break it.
Seeing this makes me want to learn pottery:)))

Matches well to Provance rustic style, I guess.

It's a lovely piece for storing coffee ☕ ♨️ 🤎

Looks very artistic! It is a great thing that you managed to transport it from Italy to your home, intact of course! Does it have some type of sealing on the lid, or is it just free standing one? Coffee doesn’t like air quite much and canisters that have some sort of sealing preserve the beans fresh for longer periods of time.

Wao I loved the design, I'm sure it gives a touch of harmony to your home 👍🏽

It is really very beautiful!

You were very lucky indeed!

Ist Ceramic? It's really portable, you can carry it along to wherever you want, how many grams of coffee does it contain.

It is ceramic, yes. I think about 220g of ground coffee. As for carrying it, I'm not sure, as I expect it would break!

If ist Ceramic if you carry it around it might break and that won't be a good experience.

I really like ceramics, it gives a different look to the colors and shapes. Due to its fragility we must be very careful when handling it.

I leave you a cup of coffee for this Saturday.☕

untitled.gif

What a funny image!, @rinconpoetico7

Oh, It's lovely. I've realized that we clumsy people like breakable things 😁

Very good morning, happy Saturday.
I keep my coffee in containers that guarantee its flavor and smell. These are ideal, plus the rubber on the lid allows for vacuum sealing and this detail allows the coffee to last for weeks without losing its properties.

separador de cafe.png

image.png

separador de cafe.png

Sometimes when for some reason I buy a lot of ground coffee, I keep half of it here and the rest I seal very well and freeze. The cold also maintains the flavor and smell, as long as it is very well closed.
Greetings...

The rubber on the lid allows for vacuum sealing

Excellent!

Oh, I didn't know that you could freeze ground coffee!

I guarantee it, @millycf1976 ...I don't like emptying all the coffee...because even though the container preserves it, opening and closing it every time you go to make coffee takes away its properties. I also freeze the rest in an airtight way... and when you go to look for it, it's incredible how it looks the same.

It's incredible how it looks the same.

Incredible is the correct word. That's an idea that never crossed my mind 👏

Milly, I have always thought that each of us has knowledge about coffee... and every day you realize that those little secrets, in spaces like these, we have the opportunity to know and that is kind of mysterious... and at the same time time fantastic. It makes coffee a guest with many outfits, always different...

separador de cafe.png

You've said that so well!
Indeed, and that's one of the things I love the most about this weekend chat 💯

✌️💯🙂👍

The rubber detail is a plus! ⭐️

I really liked your jars, I love that they are vacuum sealed, they really preserve the quality of the coffee.

One fact that caught my attention was the thing about freezing coffee, it's the first time I've heard it. Every day we learn new things.

I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.☕

Thank you!
That's right, we invite you to put it into practice...it's great.
...and thanks for the cup of coffee, excellent after lunch,@rinconpoetico7

Those containers are excellent to keep the aroma of coffee. They are practical and look good!

I think the detail of the rubber on the lid is excellent to preserve the flavor and smell of the coffee!

Greetings!

You always meet interesting people around a habit like coffee, @yessi08 ...💯✌️👍🙂❤️🍚☕

That's right my friend!

###:)
❤️😁

If they meet these storage characteristics I could say that they are the ideal containers ☕ for storing coffee ♨️

That's right!✌️💯👍

Exact, @cirangela . I think that what defines a good container is its guaranteed quality: flavor, aroma and texture of the grain, whether whole or ground.

I don't have a canister for coffee because getting coffee in my country is quite expensive so I prefer the 1.5g and I love it because it helps me to know the quantity of caffeine I take on daily basis.

It's called nescafe classic and it's very nice, I don't want to change it because its just what I need, I will just open a sachet and I will be okay with it.

Hey, that's good. How interesting. I didn't know that getting coffee in your country is difficult. What @millycf1976 says is true, here one finds out about various situations.
This coffee is also available in Venezuela and is very tasty.
Thanks for sharing your experience, @beauty197
☕❤️✌️💯👍🙂

Before it wasn't expensive, it was the cheapest thing then but I don't know what happened the price went ×5 of the price sold then, so we have to be buying little by little.

Ahhhh OK.
I was already going to write to you to ask why it was difficult to get it.
Here it's not even that it's very cheap, but well...you know, when you like coffee you stop buying other things, but coffee should never be missing...by the way, hiy I have to buy it.

Yes the love for coffee, this little ones I buy in rolls and they also serve the purpose.
So ist still expensive over there?

Venezuela's economic situation is not easy at all. We are a country of people who like coffee several times a day. Now there are people I know who can't buy their coffee. That makes me sad. Especially the old people...who have a whole life with their tradition and now retirement doesn't allow them to buy coffee...I have two jobs and I have to make sacrifices to be able to have it.

Sachets are really practical, and you won't occupy as much space as with canisters.

It doesn't occupy space at all.

Oh! don't you have a boat?

Well with the option of a small presentation, I think it is not necessary, hehehe

Greetings 🙏

Lol are you sure it's not necessarily necessary hahahahah hahahahah

Thank you

Those sachettes are ideal containers too! My babygirl became in love with them last year, and we have a special little box which I refill from time to time (and baby also have her own money to buy different packages - she check new ones pretty often!)

getting coffee in my country is quite expensive

where do you live?.. this is a very hard news to hear... 😱

A personal bag to enjoy delicious coffee. There are countries where coffee is very expensive and the package you show us is a good alternative.

I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.☕

Ohhhh I love this cup of coffee and am enjoying it right now.

Thank you so much.

Happy afternoon with a delicious cup of coffee ☕.

Today we will talk about the jars or, as we say at home the pots to store coffee, I like those beautifully decorated porcelain or ceramic ones, but, there is a detail, at home they always break, if it is not my husband it is my children🤦😬, reason why I decided not to buy them anymore!

IMG_20240622_110633.jpg

IMG_20240622_110458.jpg

So instead of them I decided to buy plastic, this one has with me a few years, I do not know exactly how many but, I think it must be about 8 years, it is transparent with purple lid, although it has already turned brown because it has been stained with coffee!

Maybe in the future I will buy again one of those that I like, but for now, I'm happy with the one I have!

These are similar to mine. I purchased mine at Poundland, a cheap shop chain here in the UK:)

Yes I could notice the similarity! hehehe, hasn't yours been stained yet?

Greetings!

stained yet?

Haha, no! I didn't even think of that. Maybe, not yet? 😅

They get stained over time! They take on the dark color of coffee! hehehehe

Now that you've mentioned it, I can see that happening 😆

A practical solution for the family economy, @yessi08 .
In my house eyelashes and no more glasses. I can't blame anyone, as I'm the one who breaks them most often!

I think there's someone like that in every house hehehehehehe

In my case my husband and my kids!

hahahaha that's right, we have to be thankful for what we have...so they break it...well, I like the glass containers in the kitchen because they are very hygienic...but anyway the plastic is decorative especially if They have reliefs or drawings.
I liked your sincere expression...sometimes we have to do what we have to do.
greetings, @yessi08

Plastic containers often have a good sealing lid, which helps to preserve the qualities of coffee better. The braking part is another good advantage of the plastic. Sadly, it becomes yellow-ish with the time and you cannot do anything to make it look fresh again. That’s why I prefer glass containers, but the breakability problem comes again… 🤷🏻😁

That's right, although with time because of the coffee they become dark hehehe, the glass ones are beautiful but they don't last long because they break, hahaha.

Well, in any case, the important thing is to keep the coffee ☕!

Greetings 🙏

I will say that it is important to consume the coffee quickly and don’t let it lose its flavor! 😁

@mdosev

Sadly, it becomes yellowish with time and you cannot do anything to make it look fresh again.

Yes, she reminded me that mine will change colour soon. I will look out for some wooden canisters, cos they would work on the boat:)

Wood is definitely gonna do the work! And they will look cool, in my opinion.

Yeah, and wooden canisters would blend nicely with the wood theme of the boat. I might start looking online to see what's available:)))

Life gives us family and friends to break things in our kitchens 😂 In my house, I am the one who breaks things 🏆🥇 But I will only give up beautiful porcelain when I die 🤣

Hahahaha, well, the important thing is that you can buy a new house once it breaks🤭.

Simple and practical! I like containers that are kept hermetically sealed, so the smell of the coffee is more intense. 👍🏽

In my house I also use plastic jars to store coffee. In my opinion they are more practical for the task, ceramic or porcelain run the risk of breaking when handling them.

I leave you a cup of coffee for this day.☕

untitled.gif

8 yrs? That's a very long time and it's looking presentable , that's shows how you keep your home and all belongings clean

That's right my friend, I think that's the advantage of plastic, it's very durable!

Greetings 🙏

at home they always break, if it is not my husband it is my children

😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬🤦

I FEEL YOUR PAIN. This was the reason why we decorated the floor at our kitchen with soft foamed linoleum instead of ceramic tiles - which, of course, are much more practical than linoleum. But... I just hate so much this shock of dishes falling on the tiles and breaking into pieces...

Perhaps a high shelf would help against children?... at least a little. 🙏

Hehehe, yeah that sound is sad 😃.

Well that material of your floor catches my attention, at home it would go great 👍.

I tell you that I have a tall cabinet, and, it is by lowering or raising things that I break them 🤦.

What can I tell you?🤷

Well, when it comes to safety, everything else is left aside 😅 the truth is that there are many models of storage containers to store our coffee, the essential thing about each container is that it complies with the rules of storage ☕.

That's right friend, the important thing is to store our coffee well ☕😃.

Greetings 🙏

The essential thing about each container is that it complies with the rules of storage ☕.

100%... sometimes fancy-looking things to do make the grade:)

Hello, I have loved your jars or containers to store your coffee ☕ ♨️ 🤎 I see that there is variety, adjusted to tastes, safety, needs, comfort and adaptation to the moment that is vital for all of us who need to keep in the best conditions our coffee.
I use for now this container that I got when I bought this very recognized coffee brand 😅 it is a resistant, ergonomic and waterproof container that makes it special 🤎

For now I plan to keep it, although maybe when I go to a kitchen implement store, I will look for a larger capacity one, but for now I love my pot to store my coffee 🤎.

IMG-20240623-WA0002.jpg

It is good when you can use some containers of food or drinks after you have eaten/drunk them. There is no need to buy expensive stuff if we have something that works well and it is good for the nature too. It is like some sort of recycling. Green thinking!

Best wishes!

I've done thios, too, hehe. When I have diffreent kinds of coffee at home, I reuse jars: mayonnaise jars, coffee jars 😄

Your coffee maker and mine are twin sisters haha. I too have stored coffee in such a container, in fact I really like the design it has and the quick way it opens the lid. Great! ☕

I like that all your coffee utensils are small size 😊☕💜. It looks very nice coffee in a glass container.

Excellent Sunday conversation, coffee lovers.

Today I come to comment on the container where we keep the coffee. In my house we always buy ground coffee, this way we only prepare it and we don't have much more work to do. To store the ground coffee we use a plastic container, I have already commented in other publications that plastic is more practical and safe for storing coffee, although ceramic and glass are elegant and much more striking, however, fragility is their weak point.

The container that I show you has been in the family for several years and that is why it is somewhat deteriorated, my mother is one of those people who find it difficult to detach from things.🤭

This has been my answer to the weekly conversation question.

An excellent start of the week with lots of coffee and success.☕

IMG_20240623_220425.jpg

Hello, in Cuba it is also usually kept in plastic containers, it is the most common, although sometimes people use other material, or keep it in a can. Your container is very similar to mine.

Cheers, and have a good start of the week.

The classic coffee container. My grandma taught us that about keeping the same container, I like to follow traditions so mine is the same as always 😊☕☕💜. Happy week

I always store my coffee in the original plastic resealable bags, that have a CO2 valve on the back. The bags are 200 grams which means that coffee is consumed in about a week after Inopen the packaging.

I also have a glass canister that seals quite well, and I use it when I buy 1 kg bags of coffee. Then I fill the transparent glass container with beans… it holds approximately 250 grams if beans.

I just love its clear walls that allow me to see the beautiful beans. The drawback is that I cannot pull out the excessive air, but one day I want to buy an automatic vaccum container like this one:

Awesome! You can keep your coffee intact.

But I do like your coffee canister. It looks elegant and even though you can't vacuum seal it, the lid looks like it does a good job.

The lid has a silicone ring that keeps the canister sealed, but I want to remove the excessive air too.

I always liked clean and simple looking tools, so that’s why we bought this jar. I think that we bought it for storing various seeds for cooking, but now it is dedicated to coffee.

It happens. We buy jars for something and then it's something else!

This is very good .... I have never seen these bags before. I also buy and separate coffee in 250 gram portions, it makes me feel confident that it will always be fresh.

I mean this type of bags, which have a valve.

They are convenient and you can rid of the excess air which remains into the packaging. And when the coffee is just 200-250 grams, then it’s definitely not gonna spoil. 😁

Hey, coffee friends!

In 2006 many things happened: among them, I rented a small apartment in the center of the city. Remodeling and equipping the kitchen was, although modestly, very exciting for me. An important part was buying the kitchen utensils and accessories, as I wanted quality things that were not too expensive and that I liked very much--because keeping my things for a long time is usually my plan--. I still have most of the stuff I bought; other things I have given away or left at my father's... When my husband and I moved in together, we realized that at 50% or so, we had two of everything, including two coffee canisters: mine was stainless steel with a rather sober design. In this old house we live in now, my husband's coffee canister is much better, as it has a more traditional feel.

image.png

He bought it at a Starbucks somewhere in Japan about 14 years ago. As it had some sentimental value to be considered, this was the one that was left in our kitchen, and my old coffee canister was left waiting in the cabinet like a player on the team's bench, but it's OK; I'm using it to keep my tea leaves.

image.png

Had I had the opportunity to buy a coffee canister in Japan, oh, you can bet I would've bought something with an artisanal feel, but I've grown quite fond of this little Starbucks buddy.

This is a beautiful vessel...you really have style my friend. You never cease to amaze me. Here's to a week full of good coffee!💜☕☕

Coffee canisters are special, right? I don't think one is enough. I need at least one more for beans, but I don't want more stuff. Not for now.

It's a holiday. I guess you have some extra time for your family today. It's raining here on the east. the afternoon will be good for some hot cocoa and a movie.

An excellent plan for the afternoon! Hope you enjoy it. 😘☕

It’s great that your husband had visited Japan and brought this fine canister back. It looks awesome! I would only prefer it if it had some Japanese art on it, rather than the Starbucks logo.

Wish you that it will serve you many more years!

I would only prefer it if it had some Japanese art on it, rather than the Starbucks logo...

I know, right?! I'd look for something more Japanese, even if it was a modest piece. But this canister has some charm and it's heavy and resistant. I like it.

Greetings to all!
I think I was a little late to participate this time 😃.

In Cuba we have several names for the container where we keep the coffee, 'pote', 'pozuelo', and even in cans and glass knobs..... any place is a good place to keep it! The other day I was talking about the names of the containers with @chacald.dcymt, well, she in Venezuela had more names than mine to refer to those containers.

I currently have it stored in a plastic (pot), which used to be an ice cream container, a 'pozuelo' that brought a rich chocolate ice cream, and I didn't want to throw it away so I reused it after emptying it (very fast it emptied by the way) and for now I keep my coffee in it. Here I show it to you.

InShot_20240623_170427504.jpg

Those seem so popular. I believe it was in the Philippines that I first saw many plastic canisters. There is an ants problem in the Philippines, so sealable plastic is always the best option:)

You've traveled a lot by the looks of it, how nice. Here sometimes the ants also sneak into the sugar, we have to keep the packaging closed.

Great...the important thing is that it is a well-closed container that helps preserve the properties of the coffee, thanks for sharing, @jordy0827

You are right, the main thing is that it is well sealed. Thank you

By the way, it has been pleasant to read you.
I follow you.

Thank you! I follow you too 😀

The coffee perolito, we call it in my house 🤭🤭.... Among all the names that our coffee preserving container has, it is special...

IMG_20240624_112315~2.jpg

Jaja that no.bre is also new to me.

The same as always

11 years ago I moved from my mother's house to a rented apartment with my boyfriend. We started a new stage of our lives. Many things in the house were orestadas, others were given to us as gifts. Among those gifts was a set of kitchen containers in which I keep rice, salt, sugar and coffee.

Since then this is my coffee perol. It keeps all the week's coffee preserved. Something I do as a hobby, is to buy coffee in 250 gram packages. It doesn't matter if I buy 1 kilo, I divide it into small packages so that it doesn't stay out of its package for too long.

The measuring spoon is a white spoon that I took for its large size and because it fits inside the container when it is time to cover it.

As long as its useful life allows it, the blue-lidded perolito will be the coffee container, the same as always...
